The definition of “healthy” food is getting upgraded to reflect current nutrition science. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced a proposal recently that would change the requirements for manufacturers who want to claim that their food or beverage product is “healthy.”

The FDA recently updated the definition of "healthy" on food labels. The change reflects updates in nutrition science since the definition was first created in the 1990s.

Exercise before or after you eat. 🚶
Exercise lowers levels of ghrelin, a hormone that stimulates appetite in the short term, while raising levels of peptide YY, a hormone that suppresses appetite. Doing a walk, run, or high intensity workout an hour or two before sitting down for your meal is a great idea. Exercising after you eat is also a great idea because you’ll have this in the back of your mind while you’re eating. If you overindulge, you’ll more than likely pay the price later.

Our Story

We are doing what we can to make health care a little easier for people with a busy schedule. Our physicians are quickly able to diagnose and treat common illnesses and minor injuries to help you get better, faster. We are here to meet the urgent medical care needs of Rochester Hills, Rochester, Troy and the surrounding communities.

Patients are seen by our experienced medical staff on a walk-in basis and are often in and out within an hour!

Unlike many walk-in clinics, we do not require you to change your primary care physician to be seen. We have working relationships with insurance plans and local primary care physicians so that your immediate medical condition will be taken care of today, and your follow up care will be with your established primary care physician. However, if you are in need of a primary care physician, we can help you with that as well. Rochester Medical Group has primary care physicians that are currently accepting new patients.

Rochester Medical Group Urgent Care specializes in the treatment of minor illnesses and injuries. We pride our self on providing prompt, high-quality medical attention for injuries and illnesses that are not life threatening, but can't wait for a scheduled doctor's visit.
