Another Adventure at Waltonwood Main in the books!
Our memory care resident, Diane, recently revisited her lifelong passion for libraries. Her love for books began while volunteering at her children's school, eventually leading her to earn her Master's from Wayne State and spend 30+ years in the children's section at the Rochester Public Library.
We started the day with lunch at her and her husband's favorite spot, the Gold Star, before heading to the library where Diane stepped back into her role as a librarian for a day! She was warmly greeted by many familiar library staff—including the director—and even received her own official name tag before taking her place in the children's section once again, checking out books and reminiscing with friends and family.
It was truly a special day filled with meaningful moments, smiles, and memories that will be cherished forever.

Our resident Tom recently visited Stallings Stained Glass in Swartz Creek for a special stained glass workshop where he created a beautiful cardinal plant stake.
Tom and his late wife first fell in love with stained glass while living in Arizona, and it quickly became a hobby they shared and cherished. When Tom moved back to Michigan, he continued the craft and even built his own workshop at his cottage.
Since moving to Waltonwood, creating stained glass is one of the things he has missed most about his cottage, so this ADVENTURE brought back wonderful memories and a chance to reconnect with a hobby that means so much to him. ❤️

Took a trip to Brewster Elementary to celebrate Read Across America with our resident Connie and a book that is very special to her— "Cubbie the Mackinac Island Bear”, inspired by her late father.

Residents loved meeting and reading to their new friends and seeing all the smiles and hearing the laughter warmed all of our hearts. We even left the children with their very own “Cubbie the Bear’s”!

Such a memorable adventure for Connie
and her family, and a wonderful way to celebrate the joy of reading together!
