A little info about me.... I have spent the last 30 years in the physical therapy industry helping people with injuries and pain recover and return to a better functional lifestyle. The last 20 years my focus has been incorporating a whole-body health approach including alignment, nutrition, activity and education. My goal is to help people who are dealing with chronic pain issues and those who want to improve their overall alignment helping to facilitate a healthy aging process. The ultimate focus is to improve the alignment of the body which in turn helps reduce pain, improves mobility and improves one's ability to do the things one wants to do. I utilize two specific techniques to accomplish this 👇👇

Structural Integration Rolfing® is a specific fascial lengthening technique designed to help create space and length throughout the body. When a body is more balanced everything moves and functions better. This technique is extremely effective for people dealing with chronic pain as well as for anyone who wants to improve their overall longevity as they age. Foundation Training is a postural reeducation and movement program designed to restore the body’s natural posture and movement patterns. We live in a very flexed society which has affected our ability to maintain good body mechanics - thus health problems arise. Once you master these movements, you will be using them in daily activities without even thinking about it. I provide personalized education 1-on-1 in person and zoom as well as in a group format. I also offer plant-based wellness options utilizing liquid and gel products to help restore internal body balance by addressing areas such as Brain Health, Sleep, Digestion, Fat Burning Activation and Collagen Absorption. There is also an wonderful device that can help reduce EMF frequencies we are exposed to on a daily basis

📍CHEST UP... to bring your shoulders wide apart while the ribcage remains stacked. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍CHIN BACK ... towards the back of your skull (not down towards your chest).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
📍 LENGTHEN the BACK of your NECK... lifting that bony point at the back your skull right next to the letter "c" (called the external occipital protuberance).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Neck position can be a tricky thing to correct because our body innately counteracts the position, adapting the center of gravity to keep us balanced. This is awesome for preventing falling down when we move around. Not great if we are sitting at a desk or looking at a phone all day and our head remains in the forward posture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This forward head position creates an array of muscle imbalances throughout the body. Which, in turn, causes pain, joint issues, and even a diminished ability to breathe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

For a little application homework this week, notice when your head goes forward towards a screen when you're directing your focus. Follow the cues to correct your neck position and instead use your eyes to focus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Exercises are important but positioning is essential. How does your body respond when you follow the Foundation Training cues for neck position?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
