During the Holidays Many Adult Children experience anxiety and depression due to the painful events that occured in childhood. Often expectations are exagerated due to empty holes of being caed for by parents who are themselves suffering form their childhood trauma's, Make a promise to yourself that after the new year you will seek help to resolve these reoccuring states of anxiety and depression. Talk therapy is extremely helpful and drug therapiy is often not needed with the right therapist

Words can't convey my gratitude to all that responded to MMHCA"s call to action. We never imagined that our Bill HB4325 would pass unanimously in both the Michigan House and Senate. Legislators were very impressed with our message and committment to mental health.
I have worked with some great counselors for over 30 years to first acquire the LLPC/LPC license and then to defend our license. This was our finest moment. In less than a month we brought thousands of supporters to Lansing and thousands more to defend us to LARA and contact their House and Senate Reps to support the profession.
We have one person to encourage and support the signing of our legislation and that person is Governor Gretchen Whitmer who is a great supporter of mental health services. Watch for more details of the signing and reception planned for November 2019,

I was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the American Mental Health Counselors Association. I am representing the the 13 Midwest States. In addition, I will be working on inclusion of LLPC/LPC counselors in Medicare reimbursement.
