Happy Friday the 13th! A few fun facts around this "unlucky" day

1. Some hospitals skip room 13, and so do we! Many hospitals skip that number altogether, but in pediatrics, we know the real number is 💯% compassion.

2. 🍀 Good luck charm? Handwashing! The best way to avoid "bad luck" this season is to wash your hands, stay up to date on vaccines, and get plenty of sleep!

3. In some countries, black cats are considered to be good luck! We know they are just like any other cat - playful, loving, and a great way to teach kids gentle pet safety!

4. This fear is real! This specific day can affect around 17-21 million people, and it even has it's own name! (triskaidekaphobia) Yes, that’s a real word!

Car Seat Safety Reminder!

Winter coats keep kids warm outside, but they can make car seats unsafe inside the car. Bulky layers can add extra padding, making harness straps too loose.

The AAP recommends moving thick coats before buckling in. How else to keep them warm? You can use thin layers, hats and mittens, or even a coat or blanket over the straps once they are buckled.
