Adventure Waltonwood for Winnie Swoffer. At 102 years old, she knows and loves history. Her request was to tour Meadowbrook Mansion then lunch at Lucky’s in Rochester.

What a great finish to celebrate Assisted Living Week! Wednesday the entire community enjoyed specialty coffees hand made by barista managers Elijah and Brennen, Thursday Manager Lauren and Executive Director Zac hosted our penny auction as well as Chef Aaron’s All Community Ice Cream Social and Friday was the popular return of the Little Donut Truck fresh hot donuts!!!! What a great celebration for all of our residents and staff!!

Thank you General Dog Hot Dog Truck and Twice as Nice Music Duo for helping us celebrate Assisted Living Week with a Tuesday Afternoon Tailgate. The entire community enjoyed supreme hotdogs and great music together in our mutually adjacent community courtyard.

On Friday some of our ladies enjoyed a special outing, “Art in the Elements”, at the gardens at Meadow Brook Hall. Florists from all over metro Detroit created amazingly beautiful and creative floral displays throughout the paths and woods. We also took a short self guided tour of the mansion.

It may almost be fall, but we are still hanging on to the last bit of summer with this week’s craft. Our residents designed their own garden scenes, complete with woodland creatures and koi ponds!

Happy Labor Day!! Cheers to our staff who work hard everyday! Staff who worked this holiday were treated to an outdoor BBQ in one our sunny courtyards! Thanks for all you do!

Last night, our Adventure by Waltonwood program embarked on a sunset cruise on the Detroit Princess Riverboat with Waltonwood University’s resident Lois and her son Stew! We enjoyed music from Motown tribute band, The Prolifics, while enjoying a buffet dinner and cocktails. We ended the night watching the sun set over the Detroit skyline. ”
