ROCovery We are a supportive inclusive community of physically active SOBER individuals

ROCovery Fitness is a peer-led supportive community of physically active individuals brought together by sober living. Our goal is to foster a safe, supportive and inclusive environment for healing and recovery—To help individuals rediscover their inner strength and resilience through fun, fitness and sober social connection. We are a not-for-profit community-based social care provider bringing fitness and non-fitness based classes and events as well as peer recovery support services to individuals with SUD in our community. All of our programs are free and open to ANYONE with at least 48-hours of continuous sobriety. We welcome friends, family members and ANYONE who chooses to live a sober lifestyle.

The more you know… ⭐️

Trailheads – Please remember to register when you head out on your hike. By doing so, you provide information that illustrates that the trail is being used and those numbers can prove useful for funding. If a search occurs in the area, the Forest Rangers can reach out to others who were on that trail for information about if they saw a certain person, when and where. Take a Group selfie at the trailhead – let the paparazzi capture the photo of what you are wearing and your pack, etc. It can be useful info to share with rescuers in an emergency.

And did you remember to put that Emergency number in your phone? If you have an emergency where a forest ranger is needed, call 911 and ask for DEC Forest Ranger assistance or call the DEC Dispatch at 1-833-NYS-RANGERS (1-833-697-7264).

If you do have an emergency, be aware that it will take some time for rescuers to arrive at your location. Take those hours into consideration and plan to keep yourself and your fellow hikers safe while you wait.

🎉 Celebrating 19 Years of Recovery! 🎉

Today we are beyond proud to celebrate our Peer Support Program Manager, Kara Izzo, on her 19-year soberversary 💛

Kara embodies what recovery in action looks like every single day. Over the past year alone, she’s accomplished so much—from tackling incredible ultra trail running feats, to earning yoga certifications, to continually pushing herself to grow personally and professionally. And yet, her greatest impact isn’t measured in miles, races, or credentials.

Kara is an extraordinarily compassionate, grounded, and supportive human. She shows up with empathy, strength, and authenticity, and so many of our staff and community members look to her as a trusted source of guidance, encouragement, and hope.

Thank you, Kara, for leading with heart, living your recovery out loud, and reminding us all what’s possible. 💪✨
