The UR Medicine Hip Preservation Program, the first of its kind in the region, was created in 2010, by Dr. Brian Giordano. The Program was developed from the ground up, with a primary focus on intra-disciplinary service integration and comprehensive health care delivery. With the addition of Dr. P. Christopher Cook in 2012, the Program gained a complimentary limb in complex open and combined hip a
nd pelvic reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Giordano and Dr. Cook work closely together to Co-Direct the Program and its many facets. With an increasing demand for complex open hip reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Raymond Kenney joined the program, after completion of a post-fellowship hip preservation training in Europe. Because the Program is nimble and able to integrate multiple lines of service into a single office visit, there is considerable optimization built into each patient's care. The Program was designed to enable comprehensive treatment of patients of all ages, until they reach the point of severe osteoarthritis.
