The Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences Florida Radiography Program celebrated the completion of its new energized lab with an Open House attended by over 100 guests! 🎉

Visitors toured the space and connected with our students while exploring this purpose-built, fully functional imaging environment designed to support high-quality instruction.

Key features include an expanded control area for up to 10 students, a full-body imaging phantom for realistic positioning, and a 54-inch display for collaborative image review.

With availability outside of patient care and simulation scheduling, the lab gives faculty greater flexibility for hands-on learning, remediation, and skill development—strengthening clinical readiness and student success.

We’re excited to see the impact this new space will have on radiography education! 💙

Rochester R1 residents and fellows recently participated in an immersive Quality Improvement retreat hosted by the Mayo Clinic Radiology Quality Office.

The full-day session combined didactic learning with hands-on workflow exercises, including a structured Lego-based activity designed to walk participants through each phase of the DMAIC framework (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control).

By applying improvement strategies in real time, trainees gained practical experience in how quality improvement methods translate into clinical workflows—an essential skill for advancing patient care and operational excellence.

Experiences like these highlight how Mayo Clinic Radiology trainees are developing the leadership and improvement skills needed to shape the future of healthcare.

Mayo Clinic Radiology represented global imaging leadership at the World Health Expo in Dubai. 🌍✈️

Christoph Wald, M.D., M.B.A., a radiologist at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, and Vice Chair of the American College of Radiology (ACR) Board of Chancellors and Chair of the ACR Commission on Informatics, joined ACR CEO Dr. Dana Smetherman as ACR was represented for the first time at this international meeting, attended by more than 200,000 healthcare professionals from around the world.

Dr. Wald presented the International Quality Recognition Program for AI in Imaging (ARCH-AI), delivered a keynote on ACR AI initiatives, and participated in four panel discussions with international radiology and industry leaders.

Through leadership roles in global organizations and participation in international forums, Mayo Clinic Radiology continues to help shape the future of imaging and AI.
