Any employee who would like to take any scrap wood located in the back parking lot near the entrance, is free to take as much as they would like. Use it for projects around the house or even for a bon fire.

Sharon Moore was a dedicated employee for 50 years before retiring in 2017. She will be missed.

Sharon's Obituary
Sharon K. Moore, 75 of Rochester, passed away at 9:10 PM on Friday April 4, 2025 at the Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester.

On May 28, 1949, Sharon Kay Moore was born in Rochester to F.L. “Bud” and Mary I. Holcomb Moore. Growing up she shared her childhood with a brother Steve. She graduated from Rochester High School with the class of 1967.

For decades with a strong work ethic Sharon was dedicated to working for Lau Industries until her retirement. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Sharon played fast pitch softball and was an accomplished bowler. In the early days she was gifted with a meticulous effort to create intricate woodcarving figurines. She was a huge animal lover, always catering to her canines and felines.

Her favorite title was Aunt Sharon, also known as "Shar Bear," and she was always there for all of her nieces and nephews then the greats! With great pride she doted on them and was there to help them with anything they would request. Aunt Sharon was the leader of the pack for family celebrations and the holidays parties. She also loved watching Notre Dame women's basketball team and all other Notre Dame teams as well.

Left to cherish Sharon's memory are her brother Steve and Mary Ann Moore of Rochester; nephew, Brody and Jeni Moore; two nieces: Tiffany and Steven Brooks and Natalie and Trevor Smith; seven great nieces and nephews: Payton Moore, Molly Moore, Rylee Brooks, Madilyn Brooks, Connor Harlan, Gabriel Harlan and Isabel Harlan.

Preceding Sharon in death are her parents, Bud and Mary Moore and a sister-in-law, Marianne Moore.

The celebration of the life services for Sharon K. Moore will be announced in the next few weeks.

Interment will be in the Rochester IOOF Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fulton County Animal Education and Adoption Center.

‼️Our “Thanks for Giving” Facebook Silent Auction starts November 21st and we are still in need of Auction Items!‼️

My name is Janet Showley and I am the Director of the Fulton County Animal Center. I am reaching out to you today because our organization’s Annual Facebook Silent Auction is coming up! Last year we raised over $4000 and it has evolved into one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. However, we can’t do it without the support of our community and the local businesses.

This year we are raising money specifically for our medical fund. Did you know we take in, on average, 100 animals a MONTH? AND, we have a 98% save rate for dogs and 94% for cats! For a shelter our size, this is an incredible achievement. We have a dedicated staff, amazing volunteers, and most importantly a pet loving and supportive community. Please consider helping us further our mission of providing exemplary care to the animals who enter our doors.

Many individuals and businesses are donating new goods/items, services, and gift cards or baskets to help out and I am asking for you to join them. No donation is too small and every bit is appreciated. Each donated item is featured on our page (almost 20,000 followers!) along with a prominent mention of each donor.

All donations are tax deductible and a receipt can be mailed by request. If interested, please call or private message us and we would be happy to arrange a day/time for us to pick it up. Or, you can also drop it off anytime during open hours.

Our virtual event starts November 21st but all donations must be received by November 18th.

We are so excited to honor Lau Industries as our September Member of the Month! Their parent company, Morrison Products, is celebrating 100 years - so of course we had to recognize that!

Our local plant employs over 200 people 🤯 Lau Industries takes pride in always utilizing local business for the things they need and are always giving back to our community! We appreciate them so much!
