“Coach Liz is great! Her kind, empathetic nature makes you feel very supported. She takes her time to understand who you are and what your long term goals are. Coach Liz also helps you set measurable goals to help you stay on track. These goals are all based on the principles of lifestyle management. I always leave my coaching sessions feeling energized and re-focused. I would highly recommend her to those looking for a safe, encouraging environment to help live a healthier lifestyle!”

International survivors of Su***de Loss Day

I lost a good friend to su***de in college and it was so devastating. Such an important topic. ❤️

“In the USA su***de is the 2nd leading cause of death for individuals 10-34 and the 4th leading cause for individuals 44-44”

Recently had to say goodbye to my beloved 14 year old pup Blu. Miss her dearly but grateful for all the memories ❤️

“People with dogs know the benefits of pet ownership. The unconditional love, trust and loyalty shown by your canine companions, coupled with their unbridled enthusiasm on your return home each day, is hard to put into words.

There's another plus of having a dog by your side: It improves your overall physical and mental health.”

Dogs improve your health by:
1. Dogs get you moving
2. Dogs help your weight
3. Dogs promote social connection
4. Dogs reduce work related stress
5. Dogs help manage anxiety
6. Dogs help combat loneliness

No bones about it: Dogs are good for your health

If you work as a clinician in the Rochester, NY community please consider volunteering to be a guest leader for Walk with a Doc! See below for more details 😊

It’s that time again where we are looking for volunteer guest Walk Leaders for 2026!

My name is Dr Liz Munoz and I am the Walk Champion/Physician Lead for this local WWAD chapter which aims to come together across health systems and create a community wide collaboration to “inspire communities through movement and collaboration.” Walk with a doc is an evidence based program that combines key components including: physical activity, social connection, time in nature and health education.

Guest Walks leaders need to have an advanced health degree including Physicians (residents & medical students are welcome), Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Psychologists etc and they also need to work in our local community. Guest Walk leader responsibilities include: assisting with marketing of the walk when you serve as guest walk lead (friends/family/patients welcome!), completing a brief online training through WWAD (after you complete the training you get a free WWAD T-shirt) , choosing a Lifestyle Medicine or Preventive Medicine topic to do a brief presentation (5-8 minutes) for walk participants and leading an approximately 30-45 min walk. New this year the presentations will be filmed and shared with WWAD. You can choose your own topic or use health topics provided by WWAD (one page handouts with pre-prepared topics).

Please share this information with other clinicians in the community. Volunteering as guest walk leader not only benefits the health of our community but it has also been shown to improve symptoms of clinician burnout!

The first 3 guest walk leaders to volunteer for 2026 will get some FREE WWAD swag (water bottle, bumper sticker, pedometer, walk prescription pads or t-shirts etc -first come, first serve!!).

Walks are every 3rd Saturday of each month 9:30-10:30a and from November to April will be held at the Perinton Community Center on the indoor track above the pool. You can download flyers for each walk & RSVP on the website:
https://walkwithadoc.org/join-a-walk/locations/rochester-new-york-2/

Available dates:
December 20, 2025 Dr Liz Munoz-Topic: Diabetes
January 17, 2026 Dr Natasha Sodhi-Topic TBD
February 21, 2026 TBD
March 21, 2026 Dr Anne Ryan-Bone Health
April 18, 2026 TBD

Please contact me directly at: coachliz@lizmunozmd.com if you are interested in volunteering! Of note please make sure to use this email rather than my Rochester Regional email for any WWAD related inquiries.

New evidence based vaccine recommendations for pregnant women from ACOG

ACOG has released updated guidance recommending maternal vaccination for COVID-19, influenza, and RSV. The three guidance documents, all of which recommend maternal immunization, lay out the full body of current scientific evidence that underscores both the safety and benefits of choosing to be vaccinated against these respiratory conditions during pregnancy.
