During stressful times, sometimes it’s the small things that can make the biggest difference. With this in mind, REI has created the Small Things Initiative to create ways that we can promote our patient’s well-being while in or out of our clinic. These include:
* Charging cords for electronics upon request
* Beverages available in the lobby
* Treats, fidgets, and sensory stickers available in the ultrasound room and patient lobby
* Patient-selected music for embryo transfers
* Fuzzy socks for egg retrievals
* More in the works!

REI has also developed an 8-week course, Mind-Body Fertility, for women undergoing fertility treatment. The goal of this course is to ease anxiety, improve mood, reduce stress, seek support, and develop well-being. Topics range from relaxation techniques and mediation, yoga, acupuncture, journaling, and more! We plan to hold this course again in the fall.

Every patient’s story is unique and we recognize the barriers, the ups and the downs that are faced during the journey of fertility preservation and family building. Our patients are more than their diagnosis and this National Infertility Awareness Week (April 19-25), we’re continuing to commit to the importance of serving and caring for the whole person with compassionate patient-centered care. This week we will highlight some of the resources and initiatives we have implemented to support our patients. To kick things off, we offered a sweet treat of fertility themed cookies! To all who visited our clinic today, we hope this was a sweet surprise and brightened your day.

It celebrates nurses who go above and beyond to make a meaningful difference through their clinical skill, empathy, and dedication. We are incredibly proud of the amazing nurses in our REI clinic. These nurses consistently go above and beyond, with two nominated for the DAISY Award and one nominated for the Bobbie Gostout Award. These nominations truly reflect who they are and how they care for our patients every single day. They exemplify teamwork and compassionate care, supporting one another while creating a safe and trusting environment for our patients. They lead with compassion, build trust, and deliver excellence in all that they do. This is the culture of our clinic, and we are honored to work alongside nurses who embody it.
