I started a new job as a supervisor and the VP noticed that I was having trouble hearing. I knew it was an issue previously. I spent my entire life thinking I was slow or couldn’t comprehend. Brain fog was always a problem. I quit school early because I couldn’t keep up, even though I was smarter than my friends.

Brain fog was always a problem. I quit school early because I couldn’t keep up, even though I was smarter than my friends.

The first few days after I was fitted with my hearing aids was absolutely emotional. Matt was impressed that I was working and not deteriorating with this much hearing loss.

2 months in now, I regret what I could have been hearing all along.

It’s 100% changed relationships with people in my life.
Noticing that my shoes squeak and my pants make sounds.
My neighbors can chat with me without using my energy at the end of the day.

You have to have communication skills to survive and have relationships with people.

I’ve noticed two people who have hearing issues. Fairly common thing where I work. I’m very observant and I can see how they are compensating.

I understand that it’s nerve wracking to go see someone. I would recommend talking to Dr. Matt. He is charismatic, empathetic and charges fairly. You can only gain from taking this first step.
