Today's hearing instruments have several ‘sub-programs’ within their main Automatic system. These can include:

Calm environments – the devices employ soft-speech enhancement to improve word understanding without making every other sound hyper-audible.

Speech in Noise – easier to hear in small groups when noise levels are low to moderate.

Spheric Speech in Loud Noise – focuses in on the person you’re speaking with and lifts their voice above the level of environmental sounds.

Comfort in Noise – uses maximum noise cancellation as well as volume reduction and transient management to keep things comfortable in extremely noisy places (wedding reception, bowling alley, professional sporting event, etc.)

Speech in Car – reduces tire and wind noise while increasing the volume on the side of the speaker.

Music – alters the frequency response to be more natural-sounding while ceasing automated volume manipulations.

Streaming mode – connect any BlueTooth-enabled device to your hearing instruments for phone calls, music/media streaming or remote control of your hearing instruments.

Telecoil/Auracast mode – connects to public audio systems so you can hear what’s happening at the front-of-house.

A: I love to sing. My pitch is off when I’m wearing hearing aids, and find it really frustrating. Can this be improved?

Q: Yes, our VAE fitting system can help finesse this for you during your HA fitting. Please also let the office team know that you need support with singing/hearing pitch when making your appointment with us for a hearing check and assessment.
