It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Dr. Thomas R. Sweeney.

He was one of the original founders of Greece OBGYN, the first Obstetric and Gynecology Practice in Greece, NY, in 1960. Dr. Sweeney loved practicing medicine and he was loved by so many of his patients. Although Dr. Sweeney retired from physically practicing medicine in 2011, his legacy for delivering extraordinary patient care through compassion, professionalism and unique ability to develop almost immediate rapport with his patients, continues to be an example and inspiration for all of us as we serve the patients in our community each day.

Visitation on Friday. August 29th from 4-7 pm at Anthony Funeral Home, 1031 Ridge Rd., Webster, NY, 14580.

Funeral Mass: Saturday, August 30th at 10 am at St. Thomas The Apostle Church, 4536 St. Paul Blvd., Irondequoit, NY, 14617.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Birthright of Rochester and the Maplewood YMCA.

Rest in Peace Dr. Sweeney.
