Well, ID theft is really no joke. Iβve been in βfight modeβ since it happened to me and have decided to share my story on TikTok (no I donβt know what I am doing on there, but I am learning). I had to do this in 5 parts π«£ to get the whole story out. My biggest lesson of all was not to use Facebook for business ads. Ever. And to expect that if you ever need help from Facebook, that you will not receive any. Many other lessons, as well, but this one is worth the PSA.
I also updated my TikTok with some videos on there on how you can look into your Facebookβs entire history (for any reason but for me it allowed me to see who was logged in and what activity they did in my account). The other two videos show how to look into your Apple phone for any compromised passwords and the other is how to see if any unknown IP addresses are logged into your gmail accounts.
I have learned plenty and now have a new badge; βTherapist turned detective.β
I will share the 1st video of my βstoryβ here. To listen to the rest, youβll have to click my user name. In the comments here, I will share the 3 βhow toβ videos.
My biggest message to all would be to change your passwords-NOW. Donβt match any. Make them impossible. Get LifeLock. Check your histories. Buckle up. Change your ways. This wrecked me mentally and emotionally (and financially) and I donβt want a single soul that I know or am in touch with to ever go through this themselves. The world has many complex issues related to fraud and scamming and something has to change. At the bare minimum, there needs to be more help for when it does happen to someone.
π€ Dropβ be careful out there.
Video 1 of my identity theft/fraud experience that began with Facebook/Meta advertising. If I help anyone to become proactive/more aware and absolutely never suffer what I did, then I am happy to be sharing my story. ...
