The Family Access Center (FAC) exists to provide children with opportunities for safe, conflict-free access to their loved ones.

Committed to the needs of children, FAC supports their right to develop and maintain relationships with their families while protecting them from adult conflicts and other family challenges.

These benefits include:

· Custodial (Residential) Parties: Assured that children are safe and secure during visits.

· Non-Custodial (Non-residential) Parties: Opportunities to spend time with children in a neutral, supervised setting

FAC aims to create a supportive and secure environment for children and families, enabling healthy and stable relationships.

Staff Spotlight: Callie Aaron

Meet Callie Aaron! Callie serves in the Family Advocacy, Recovery, and Restoration (FARR) program. She works closely with mothers navigating recovery and parenting, helping them build stability, relationships, and support systems.

Since joining FSR in 2022, Callie has seen the FARR program expand across multiple counties, reflecting both its impact and growing need. She currently carries a full caseload in Rochester and continues to support outreach efforts to bring the program to more communities.

Looking ahead, Callie expects to continue growing both within the field of substance use recovery and beyond. For now, she’s focused on where she is: building relationships, supporting families, and helping create pathways to stability and hope.

Did you know your generosity could go twice as far, without costing you anything extra?

Many employers offer matching gift programs, where they match donations their employees make to nonprofit organizations. It’s one of the simplest ways to amplify your impact in the community.

If you’ve made a gift to Family Service Rochester or you are planning to, take a moment to check with your HR department. You might be able to double your support for programs that matter to you and your family.

Together, we build better lives... and together, we can turn generosity into great impact.

Our blog post shares more about matching gifts:

Spring is supposed to feel like a fresh start.

But for a lot of people, longer days just shine a light on how much you've been carrying. The pressure to feel better because the sun is out doesn't always match what's actually happening inside.

If this season feels harder than it looks from the outside — you're not imagining it. And you don't have to push through it alone.

Family Service Rochester is here. 💙

Did you see the report about March for Meals on ABC 6 News - KAAL TV? It covers how important Meals on Wheels is to our community!

“It’s more than that meal. They’re building a connection with people. They’re providing a safe, friendly face that’s visiting them every, even just for a few minutes. They’re able to just bring a smile to someone’s face and check on them,” said Jessica Thornton, Program Manager for Aging Services at Family Service Rochester.

Mike Christenson is in our Volunteer Spotlight!

Meet Mike Christenson, who finds that volunteering is a meaningful way to support others, especially during challenging times, and a reminder that no effort, no matter how small, is insignificant.

After experiencing firsthand the support their family received when Mike and his partner, Sandy Waldof, retired and moved back to Rochester to help care for Mike’s parents as their needs increased, Mike was inspired to give back and “pay it forward” in gratitude. He volunteers with Meals on Wheels through Family Service Rochester, helps drive neighbors to medical appointments, and volunteers at Mayo Clinic.

Mike describes the best part of volunteering simply: it feels good to help, knowing even small acts of kindness can make a real difference.

Thank you, Mike!
