Dr MacRae is passionate about improving biking and walking infrastructure so families and kids can safely enjoy our streets. He attended the League of American Bicyclist’s Convention, the leading US bike advocacy group. Here Dr MacRae shares a moment with Bill Nesper, the executive director of the League of American Bicyclists prior to riding around Washington DC and then lobbying at the US Capital for better biking and walking infrastructure. They joined over 300 cyclists and were successful at lobbing for 3 key pieces of legislation.

Here comes Santa Claus, Here Comes Santa Claus, and Santa Claus, and Santa Claus. . .About 10 years ago, Dr. MacRae started the Rochester Santa Bicycle Ride, based on a similar event from his Milwaukee, Wisconsin roots. The ride has grown to nearly 100 who dress for the occasion and pedal to City landmarks while collecting charitable donations for the Center for Youth https://www.facebook.com/cfyroc, which supports homeless and troubled children

He continues to work with some of the world's leaders in LASIK and advanced laser technology to improve visual quality and optics with his team at The University of Rochester Flaum Eye Institute.

JULY is UV Safety Awareness Month. Please take a minute to learn how to protect yourself and your loved ones!
- Avoid direct sunlight from 10AM - 4PM
- Wear protecting clothing👖👚 to cover your arms and legs and wear a wide-brimmed hat👒 to shade your face.
- Wear sunglasses 😎that block the harmful UVA and UVB rays
- Apply at least a SPF15 sunscreen (or higher)🧴 for protection.
Did you know UV ray exposure can cause eye problems?
- They can cause the cornea (front of eye) to become inflamed or burned.
- They can lead to the formation of cataracts (clouding of the lens of the eye) and pterygium (tissue growth on the surface of the eye), both of which can impair vision. 😎
