In a recent paper “Intraoperative bladder visualization by indocyanine green filling and subsequent washout in endoscopic hysterectomy: ICG-Washout method” by Akiko Yoshida Ueno, et al. the problem of bladder injury during minimally invasive hysterectomy is once again highlighted.

However, the opening statement “Despite a potential risk of bladder injury in laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH) and robot-assisted LH (RaLH), an intraoperative method for delineating the entire bladder with indocyanine green (ICG) has not been established.” is erroneous. An intraoperative method for delineating the entire bladder HAS been established. EndoGlow’s GreenEgg™ fluorescent manipulator transilluminates the bladder from the va**nal side delineating the bladder boarder without slowing down the surgery or exposing the patient to ICG.
