As we are setting into the Autumn season, we are faced with the "Fall Back" magic of Daylight Savings Time. While there may have been some compelling reasons for this initially, it can really mess with our internal clocks. Clearly, the powers that be did not consider the mental health impact.

As you "Fall Back" this season, take some time to learn about yourself and improve your wellbeing. Self-care is not self-ish.

April showers bring May flowers, and with all this springtime renewal, take some time to rejuvenate your mind as well. Enjoy nature, take time to get grounded, and attend to your self. Remember, self-care is not self-ish.

Memorial Day is a day to remember those veterans who are no longer walking amongst the living. Remember those who fought for our freedom. And may each of us stay in the fight everyday, for resilient minds, physical wellbeing, and healthy living.

While their souls have departed, the legacies of these men and women who precede us in death march onward! May their sacrifice not be in vain and may their memory live on in perpetuity. Be blessed this Memorial Day.

Happy New Year! Hopefully you survived the Christmas season. For some it may have been great, while other may experience triggers and struggles that go along with the season.

Just a reminder that your brain is an organ, just like your muscles. While many people make New Year's resolutions to get into better physical shape, don't let your mind and emotional capacity atrophy from no exercise! Practice self-care and consider using a trainer (ie. life coach, therapist, counselor, support group, etc.)

Exercise your mental muscles, emotional intelligence and psychological strength. Cheers to being mentally strong in 2025!

To fellow veterans and all those who are currently serving, deepest gratitude and honor to you for your service and self-sacrifice!

Though Veteran's Day is not always so happy, we are glad that our veterans and service members are with us, and grateful for the veterans that are with us no longer. Many veterans bear the physical and mental scars of their sacrifice.

Though the origins of this quote are contested, the sentiment rings true: “People sleep peaceably in their beds at night because rough men [and women] stand ready to do violence on their behalf.”

Thank a veteran today, knowing that while you sleep peaceably, they stand ever-on-guard to protect your rights and freedoms!

Warhorse Therapy participated in the Operation Welcome Home Couples Fall retreat put on by Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch. Couples had a chance to hone their trust and communication skills alongside a 4-legged equine therapist and a 2-legged human therapist (Josh Kaus). Thanks to our veterans, their spouses and Ironwood Springs. What a fun and impactful weekend!
