We will explore topics around our relationship with ourselves and our bodies, aging, nutrition, body awareness, and living intentionally.

Now offering Therapeutic Relaxation Massage and bodywork at Sustainable Wellness! We are so excited to partner with this amazing group of mental health professionals. Please check out the post below for more info!

We’re now offering Therapeutic Massage bodywork services in partnership with ! Dani Skatharoudis Oliver, LMT offers restorative relaxation bodywork at our Village Gate location to help you unwind and reconnect with your body. Chronic pain and stress can often be multi-faceted experiences. Dani aims to offer an environment in which all clients are welcomed, honored and respected. Ongoing collaboration and shared decision making is a pillar of her work with clients.

Dani’s work is intentional, compassionate and present. In addition to the client’s insight, she uses her intuitive gifts to access deep listening skills while working with the body. She draws from modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue, myofascial techniques, craniosacral therapy, and energy work – which allows for a customized session each visit.

If you choose, she may also use hot stones, hot towels and/or aromatherapy during the treatment.

Research shows that the manual manipulation of soft body tissue can provide relief from physical, emotional, and mental symptoms. Massage therapy has also been found to help clients with trauma-related dissociation improve the connection to how emotions manifest through physical sensations, while building comfort and safety in the body. It can also help to increase circulation, relieve physical pain, and relax tensed muscles.

We’re excited to share the benefits of therapeutic massage to support our clients’ stability between therapy sessions, as well as improving a tolerance to trauma work during sessions.

Services are also available for clients outside the practice who are seeking relief from stress, chronic pain or tension.

What does ‘whole person-centered’ bodywork mean? 🧐

Great question!

Whole person-centered bodywork is an approach that honors your lived human experience when it comes to helping manage pain and stress.

Informed by current pain science, I choose to take the role of “interactor” with you and your body during conversations and hands-on work, instead of the “operator” or expert of the session.

In our work together, this looks like:

• Trauma awareness; consent, collaboration, clear communication and trustworthiness are pillars of this space

• Interacting with and respecting your nervous system first and foremost; this system allows us access to the roots of stress and pain

• Working together as a partnership; I am here to be your ally in finding relief from the pain, stress and fatigue you may be experiencing
