We had amazing and awakening tour of Montgomery, AL, with Steve Browder of the Mothers of Gynecology Monument. His sister, Michelle Browder, created the sculptures and is the impetus for all of the desperately needed clinical outreach they are offering women in the health care deserts around Montgomery. To walk the path of an African from being shackled on a boat to where (in the center of town) they would be sold to the highest bidder and be forever enslaved has altered me. I truly have no words for the horror. I will keep yelling that the United States’ powerful economy was built on the children of Black women. And our current administration is putting us further on the path of prisoner labor.
