Bored with your job? Unfulfilled? Are your efforts being overlooked? Have you just about had enough?

Boy, can I relate! You put in the time, you think you're making a difference and suddenly you realize you're just spinning your wheels.

What can you do to turn things around? To make a change that fulfills you in the long run?

I had a client who asked me the same questions. Was he in the right job? Should he look elsewhere? Should he make a change?

We took a look at his office. It was set up pretty well; his desk was technically in the command position, but I could see where the flow of energy was getting stuck.

I advised him to make some changes: move the desk here, re-arrange the room to be more conducive to free flowing energy and declutter some of the items that were taking up space.

He made those changes and about two months later, he was recruited for a job tailor made for him. It did require him to move, but he and his wife were game so it was a on to a new adventure. Years later, the job is still enjoyable and fulfilling!

If you're thinking of making a career change or are looking to improve how you feel about the one you have, don't underestimate the power of a Feng Shui consultation. I am here to help guide you toward that fulfilling job you're longing for and I'm happy to help!

Are you overwhelmed and looking for a little inspiration? Read on because I have a story for you.

I grew up in the 60s and 70s and while there was a lot of
important good news like America landing astronauts on the moon, there was also
the troubling news around Viet Nam. While Elvis wasn't the top dog anymore, the
Beatles were climbing their mountain. And while beehives hairdos were on their
way out, miniskirts and bell bottoms were on their way in. So much change!

One day, my dad noticed I was feeling overwhelmed at a
particularly upsetting news story I had seen. He pulled me aside and offered me
this little quip which to this day, I find to be so inspirational. It goes like
this:

Life by the inch is a cinch. Life by the yard is hard.

Take that in for a moment.

We are in a specific time period in Feng Shui called Period 9.
It is linked to the Fire element and Fire is transitional. We are going through
transitional times and if you follow Feng Shui, you've been expecting this.
Expecting change doesn't necessarily make change easier though. Processing them
in bite size pieces does.

There is a lot to embrace about Period 9 and I'll be writing
more about it in time. But for this weekend, if you're feeling a little
overwhelmed, I hope this inspirational quote can bring things into manageable
perspective. Things will even out and you can enjoy the little things in life.
Out of transition comes transformation and we can embrace that.

Clutter can overtake anyone. You set down one item, you move to another area and place something there, you get distracted by a phone call, the laundry needs folding, your special someone brings the groceries in and it's chaos reigning supreme. Sound familiar?

Clutter can happen right before your very eyes. And as my saying goes, "clutter is the enemy of your serenity."

You know you need to address it, but where do you start? Well, big decluttering jobs may need a professional to help you, but if yours is a situation that you can handle, but it's overwhelming here are three easy Feng Shui tips to help you get started.

Hang up your coat, put away your shoes and put your down in a place you won't trip over it.
Put the groceries away, place your reusable bags in a designated location and recycle used bags.
Fold the laundry and 𝐩𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲!

Okay, I know it's not easy to declutter, but these three tips will help because you have to start somewhere. Always start at the surface. When diving deeper into a decluttering project, for each item you go through ask yourself: Do I need it? Do I use it? Do I love it?

I always recommend that people start small because you'd be surprised how that can get the ball rolling. And once things are organized, neat and tidy, you will love the way that feels!

Can color promote peace and harmony?

In Feng Shui, we work with the Elements but did you know each Element is represented by a color? The traditional colors of each Element are repented here with green representing Wood, red representing Fire, yellow or tan/brown representing Earth, white or gray/gold representing Metal and black representing Water.

As you know, there are so many variations on the basic colors and as your own style emerged, your favorites became obvious. Is that because these colors bring you the most peace and harmony? Let me know which Feng Shui color brings you the most peace and harmony!

When is it a good time to display your knives in your kitchen? The answer is: never.

Now, don't freak out. I understand that you're a gourmet in the kitchen, or that those knives are the tools of your favorite hobby, or that you've always had your knives in that beautiful butcher block on the counter. I get it!

But think about what knives are all about: cutting, and slicing. Necessary activities in the kitchen, but when the knives aren't in use and on display? Then the pointy, stabbing, slicing connotations associated with knives are always circulating in your conscious or unconscious mind. That cutting energy is close at hand and feeds into the energy that surrounds you.

So, what to do? Look into drawer dividers for your kitchen knives and get them off your counters. It will free up precious counter space and at the same time, will rid your kitchen of that aforementioned energy.
home because they are so necessary. But if you're looking for harmonious energy to surround you in your home, they should not be on display. As a side note, we had our knives on display in our home - until I knew better. When we put them in a drawer and ditched the holder, the space not only looked better, but it 𝑓𝑒𝑙𝑡 so much better too! Seriously, you really could feel the difference.

I hope you give it a try.

Did you know you have a wealth area in your home? In Feng Shui, Wealth is a life area that is represented on the Bagua. If you are not satisfied with the wealth or money aspect of your life, you can make a few adjustments to attract abundance and prosperity.

To start, locate the wealth corner of your space, which is located in the Southeast area of your home and/or office. In BTB Feng Shui, the wealth corner is the far left corner from the entrance. You can enhance this area using items or the elements that symbolize wealth and abundance. But before you add anything to this area, be sure it is clutter free! The effects of any enhancements or adjustments will be seriously diminished if the space is bogged down with clutter.

Using the Elements to enhance the wealth corner is an easy way to create supportive energy that can attract wealth into your life. The Element associated with wealth is Wood. You can use a wood table, a wooden bowl or other wooden object, or use the color green. The colors purple and gold are used as well. You can bring these colors in by using pillows, rugs, or artwork.

A water feature can be used as well, but this year, representing the water element is better than using actual running water in the Southeast. You can represent water with the color black (in a rug, using a bowl or decorative item, pillows, etc.) or dark blue. Adding plants (the Wood element) can be practical and pretty, and is another way to enhance the space.

If you find that your money goes out as fast (or faster) than it comes in, or if you are looking to meet your financial goals but are just not quite there yet, consider enhancing your wealth corner! By making these adjustments and being mindful of clutter in this area, you can create a space that supports the flow of abundance and prosperity into your life. Be intentional, give it some time and enjoy the benefits of your efforts!

🔥 Feeling low on energy? Perhaps it's time to look to the elements to see where you might be lacking. In Feng Shui, the Elements are used to balance the energy around us.

Fire symbolizes passion, transformation, and vitality. If you're feeling sluggish then look to the Fire Element to help put a little spark to the situation!

Consider adding candles, warm colors like red or maroon, or even a fireplace to your surroundings. Fire can uplift your mood and inspire creativity. A flickering candle not only creates a cozy atmosphere but also serves as a reminder to embrace your inner fire.

Where do you need a little more warmth and creativity? Whether it’s your workspace, living room, or even your meditation corner, a touch of fire can help you break through stagnation and reignite your passions. But like all things in Feng Shui (and life!) balance is the key. Too little fire can bring about low energy and too much can create agitation and sleeplessness. It's all about the balance!

Look to the Fire Element to help bring that energy back into your life! I'd love to hear how you used the Fire Element to bring a spark back to your life!❤‍🔥☯

And these are transitional times.

In the fascinating world of Feng Shui, there are 9 twenty year periods and each carries with it specific characteristics and influences. To name just a couple, in 2024, we left Period 8, a time of emerging young entrepreneurs (think Zuckerberg and Besos) and actors like Daniel Radcliff and Tom Hardy. The element was the Earth element.

Last year, we entered Period 9, a much different energy and ruled by a much different element. This time around, we will see a far more noticeable presence in prominent women, especially middle aged women (Kamala Harris, and while not yet middle aged, AOC and Taylor Swift). And the element of this period is Fire. From 2024 through 204, Period Nine is characterized by the element of Fire, symbolizing illumination, transformation, and passion. This period encourages us to ignite our creativity and connect with our inner selves, fostering a deeper understanding of our desires and aspirations.

It will also be a transformative time.

While we are living in chaotic, fast moving moments, the energies of this period have already promoted a sense of unity and collaboration, urging us to build stronger connections with our communities. One need only turn on the nightly news to see that in action.

Remember that transitional times can be chaotic. That's why I will always advise you to keep your home and work surroundings supportive, cozy, clutter free and let it become your sanctuary. Let the Fire element inspire you to take bold actions that align with your true purpose.

While living through chaos, it can be difficult to stay calm and hopeful. To help in that regard, remember that we are passing through a time that will ultimately be better, more truthful, loving and fair. Let's illuminate our paths together! 🔥

When you look at the space leading up to your front door, what do you see? Is everything peaceful and calm? Or do you get irritated pulling into your parking lot or driveway?

There are many identifiable negatives in Feng Shui that can impact your serenity around your home. Is a POISON ARROW facing right in your direction? Do you live on a DEAD END? Does your neighbor NEGLECT to straighten their yard and leave a mess for everyone to endure? Are you near a CELL TOWER or a LANDFILL?

There is likely SOMETHING negative that you're forced to contend with on your way into your home, and once you're in there as well. Fortunately, Feng Shui offers many remedies available to balance and harmonize your space, so that what's happening around you can at least not have that great of an effect.

That's why you need to book your Feng Shui consultation today! I am here to help you identify and correct these negatives so you can start your day right, feel energized, put in a good day's effort, relax at the end of the day and get a good night's sleep. Ah, the many benefits of Feng Shui!

Give me a call or reach out to connect for your consultation today. And don't forget to sign up for my Feng Shui Tidbits newsletter. Remember it's absolutely FREE and offers a way to receive your 30 minute virtual consultation, also FREE. I look forward to hearing from you!

I have been busy behind the scenes and can't wait to fill you in! But - not yet! Some exciting changes are coming to Catherine Dean Feng Shui and the big winner will be YOU!

The following is a little hint:

When it comes to the art of Feng Shui, many people are surprised to learn that there isn't just one way to practice it. In fact, there are several schools of thought, each with its unique approach and philosophy! 🌿 Understanding these different schools can help you choose the right method that resonates with your personal beliefs and lifestyle.

One well-known school is Form School, which emphasizes the importance of the physical environment and its shapes. This approach focuses on the natural landscape, building shapes, and the placement of objects to create harmonious energy flow. On the other hand, we have Compass School, which uses the directions and the energy of the environment based on the compass to determine the optimal placement of furniture and elements within a space. 🧭🏡

Then there’s the Black Hat Sect, which I have been practicing for nine years. This method combines elements of Tibetan Buddhism with traditional Feng Shui, offering a more spiritual and intentional approach that focuses on the Bagua map. Lastly, the Flying Stars school takes a more time-based approach, using the movement of energy through cycles to determine the best times for action in your space. 🌌

Are you curious about which Feng Shui school aligns with your goals? Stay tuned - more info and options will be coming your way. I can't wait to share it all with you!
