Weโ€™re proud to revisit this moment when Dr. Brewer appeared on Good Morning America to spotlight how women and people of color are disproportionately impacted by medical gaslighting.

As GMA celebrates 50 years on air, we wanted to join in the celebration by shining a light on our teamโ€™s commitment to equity and community-driven research.

๐Ÿ” In the segment, Dr. Brewer speaks directly about how biases in health care affect communication, trust, and outcomes. The FAITH! team remains committed to amplifying community voices and shaping care that responds to all people.

Rochester, MN โ€” Six decades strong. One mission unbroken. The NAACP Rochester Branch MN proudly announces its premier event of the yearโ€”the 2025 Freedom Fund Banquet, celebrating the organizationโ€™s 60th Anniversary.

Sixty years ago, on October 11, 1965, the Rochester Branch of the NAACP was established to advance social justice, expand civil and human rights, eliminate discrimination, and accelerate opportunities in education, economic equity, and community well-being. Today, as we celebrate and honor the historic legacy of the NAACP, our work remains as vital to our community as it was when we were founded.

This yearโ€™s theme,โ€œ๐Ÿฒ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ฌ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—™๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐—จ๐—ฟ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ก๐—ผ๐˜„,โ€ honors six decades of resilience, advocacy, and progressโ€”while challenging us to meet this moment with renewed commitment to justice, civic engagement, leadership, and collective action.

Sixty-two years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded the nation:
โ€œWe are now faced with the fact that tomorrow is today. We are confronted with the fierce urgency of now. In this unfolding conundrum of life and history, there is such a thing as being too late. This is no time for apathy or complacency. This is a time for vigorous and positive action.โ€

President Elegbede added: โ€œIn the poem The Hill We Climb, Amanda Gorman reminds us that '๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—น๐˜„๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜ ๐—ถ๐—ณ ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—น๐˜† ๐˜„๐—ฒโ€™๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต ๐˜๐—ผ ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜โ€”๐—ถ๐—ณ ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—น๐˜† ๐˜„๐—ฒโ€™๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜โ€™ We want people to come and be in community with usโ€”to celebrate, reflect, and dedicate themselves to the important work that must be done for our community and for generations to come.โ€
