We are saddened to learn of Dr. Richard Ranney's passing. Dr. Ranney (Perio '69, MS '69) had a distinguished career, serving as dean of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the University of Maryland College of Dentistry. He served as president of both the American Assoc. for Dental Research and the International Assoc. for Dental Research. He joined the Eastman Dental Center Foundation Board and became a strong and active supporter of our institution. He led the Board review of programs and was always a voice of reason and integrity. He will be missed.
