Did you know that 14 nursing homes have closed since 2020, and almost all of them have been nonprofit providers? New Yorkers are experiencing a crisis of care due to the inadequacy of New York’s nursing home Medicaid reimbursement, and the reduction of available nursing home beds is contributing to hospital gridlock.

Did you know that 7 out of 10 nursing home residents depend on Medicaid to pay for their care? Plus, staffing levels and availability of care depend heavily on the adequacy of State funding. Kathy Hochul, please provide a 20% increase in Medicaid funding for nursing homes in your Executive Budget Proposal, to combat over 50% cost growth since 2007!
