I have a tradition with my closest friends where we pick one word for the new year…an intention that I write on a wall. Forget resolutions… they fail by March at best. Pick one word. One word that you want to embody.

Over the years I have found that my friends’ words inspire me past my own chosen word. For 2026, my word is “Loose”. Please share with me your word?

I am seeing a trend of “depletion” in those I have treated recently. We work constantly to maintain lives we barely get to inhabit. If you are feeling this, I just wanted to let you know…you are not alone. 🩷

Grief makes people uncomfortable.
We are taught to hide it, rush it, or carry it alone.
We should stay rooted in the belief that our grief deserves to be supported not avoided. 💕

I just watched a video of a Chiropractor aggressively digging into a client’s medial thigh, claiming to release an “adhesion stuck to the sciatic nerve.”(screenshot of technique included)

Here’s the thing:
The client is in visible pain, grunting, groaning, guarding, clenching. That is an extremely sensitive area on a good day.

When the nervous system senses threat, it stiffens and protects. That “deep release” work caused the client to tense their glutes, brace their breath, and increase pressure on the actual sciatic nerve. I would agrue that instead of helping, this technique may have amplified the pain pattern it claimed to fix.

If you’ve had bodywork that felt more like a battle than a healing session, I want you to know…
It doesn’t have to be that way.
