Brianna says the moments that make her most proud to be a CRNA at Mayo Clinic are the quiet ones — sitting with patients before surgery, offering reassurance and steady care.

“I find purpose in being there for patients during such a vulnerable and often scary time in their lives,” she says.

At Mayo Clinic, caring for medically complex pediatric patients takes a team. Physicians, nurses, surgical staff and many others work together to plan every detail with safety in mind.

When a family says thank you, it means everything.

Because behind every procedure is a person — and a team committed to their care. https://jobs.mayoclinic.org/CRNA

At 56, Eric Minnesota was training for an Ironman triathlon when he got a devastating diagnosis — stage 3 colorectal cancer.

Mayo Clinic's treatment plan included more than surgery as an option. The team explained that by using precision medicine, they were able to determine Eric was a candidate for a nonsurgical approach to treatment called immunotherapy.

In this video, Eric and his wife Paula share their appreciation for their Mayo Clinic care team.

Congratulations to Ben Adams, who recently received the SHINE Award. The SHINE Award honors Mayo Clinic in Florida team members who exemplify Service, Healing, Integrity, Nurture and Excellence — recognizing those who go above and beyond for patients, families and colleagues.

Ben was nominated for the compassionate care he provided to a patient who was struggling with the loss of independence that can come with hospitalization. He took intentional time during their care to ensure the patient felt at ease, listened closely to their concerns and offered steady reassurance throughout the interaction. Before leaving, Ben made sure the patient was comfortable, confirmed medications were on the way, and provided consistent verbal reminders that they mattered.

Ben’s compassion and presence make a meaningful difference every day. Congratulations, Ben!

Congratulations to Denise who recently received the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses!

She was nominated by a colleague, who shared:
“I recently moved into a new role in the outpatient oncology clinic and was learning new skills and processes. Denise helped me grow and took time from her busy day to teach me step by step. She provided ample time for me to practice a hands-on skill so I could build confidence. Her level of trust and generosity meant more than I can express. Denise showed not only clinical expertise, but kindness, teamwork and a genuine commitment to supporting others. She turned a simple learning moment into one I will remember throughout my career.”

Mayo Clinic is among over 5,000 healthcare organizations worldwide committed to the DAISY Award program. The DAISY Award is presented each month to an extraordinary nurse.

At Mayo Clinic, the needs of the patient come first, a principle that guides decisions at every level of care.

For Katie, a community CRNA with Mayo Clinic Health System in Northwest Wisconsin, that mission shapes how she practices each day. Working across multiple sites, she provides safe, thoughtful and compassionate anesthesia care in an environment that prioritizes teamwork, mutual respect and clinical excellence. She values being part of a system that trusts CRNAs, supports practicing at the top of their license and integrates them as essential members of the care team.

Katie’s experience reflects the commitment of CRNAs across Mayo Clinic who bring expertise, integrity and purpose to every patient interaction. https://jobs.mayoclinic.org/CRNA

Kelsey’s journey at Mayo Clinic began as a Summer III nurse intern. After graduating, she cared for patients as a nurse in various nursing specialties, building the critical-care foundation that would shape her current career.

Today, as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), she cares for patients during surgery, guiding them safely through vulnerable moments.

Beyond patient care, Kelsey serves in leadership roles, supports CRNA recruitment, chairs the Nurse Anesthesia Alumni Association and mentors the next generation of nurse anesthetists.

Her path reflects the many care teams across Mayo Clinic who continue to grow, lead, teach and make a difference for patients every day. https://jobs.mayoclinic.org/CRNA

Earlier this month, Mayo Clinic medical teams stepped outside of campus and onto the course at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

These candid moments capture the care teams who supported this large event. From early-morning briefings to staffing medical tents across the course, Mayo Clinic physicians, nurses, paramedics and support staff worked together to help keep fans, players and event staff safe.

Caring for our community looks different every day and sometimes it means showing up before sunrise and staying ready for whatever the day brings.

Thank you to the many volunteers who made it possible.

In 2013, Jeff became a living kidney donor, a decision that changed both his brother’s life and his own. After experiencing the evaluation, surgery and recovery process firsthand at Mayo Clinic in Arizona, Jeff felt called to help others navigate the same journey.

Today, he serves as a Living Donor Nurse Coordinator at Mayo Clinic, guiding donors from their first phone call through surgery and follow-up care.

“Being a donor is a wonderful opportunity to greatly improve someone else’s quality of life,” Jeff shares.

His story is part of Faces of Compassion, a series honoring transplant team members whose personal experiences shape the care they provide every day.
