PT is health.

Movement is the medicine that actually lowers costs, improves outcomes, and extends independence.

Physical therapy is one of the most underutilized, misunderstood, and undervalued services in healthcare.

Here are 10 things I wish more people knew:

1. PT isn’t just for injuries.
It’s for prevention, performance, and extending y.

2. Movement is medicine.
Rest may feel safe, but smart movement is how we heal.

3. Imaging doesn’t tell the whole story.
MRIs don’t always match pain. We treat people - not pictures.

4. The earlier you start, the less you need.
Delay = dysfunction. Early PT = faster results with less intervention.

5. PT isn’t about “fixing” you.
It’s about building confidence, strength, and belief in your body.

6. The data is on our side.
PT reduces costs, improves outcomes, and prevents unnecessary surgeries.

7. You probably don’t need surgery.
Less than 5% of people with back pain do.

8. Great PT isn’t passive.
It’s active, empowering, and focused on function - not just symptom relief.

9. PT can be your first stop.
In most states, you can access a physical therapist without a referral.

10. Done right, PT makes you feel stronger, not more fragile.
At PTSR, we’re not just helping people recover.
We’re helping them perform for life.

Summer stressing you out? Adding massage is a great way to manage muscle tension! Call Rachel today @ (585) 478-4965!

From Rachel Kroft, LMT
"The benefits of massage extend far beyond simple relaxation. Massage is a powerful tool for maintaining both physical and mental well-being. It can improve circulation, ease stiffness and chronic pain as well as rebuild range of motion. Along with these physical attributes, massage can significantly enhance mood and reduce anxiety. As part of an aftercare regimen, massage complements other therapies and can be a valuable asset in the healing process. Yoga is an excellent way to learn about your body, and as a registered yoga teacher for the past 10 years, I can incorporate yoga poses to assist in your physical well-being. Please email for rates, scheduling as well as a comprehensive list of Modalities offered!"

Juneteenth, celebrated on June 19th, commemorates the end of slavery in the United States. Specifically, it marks the day in 1865 when Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced the freedom of enslaved African Americans, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

It is our goal at PT Services of Rochester to provide high quality service that treats each individual as an equal and offer a safe space for your treatment.

Migraine is a neurological disease characterized by recurrent episodes of moderate to severe headaches, often accompanied by symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light, sound, and smells. These attacks can last anywhere from a few hours to several days, significantly impacting the daily life and functionality of those affected.
Beyond the physical pain, migraine can have far-reaching consequences on patients’ well-being. It can disrupt work, school, and social activities, leading to decreased productivity and quality of life. Additionally, the unpredictability of migraine attacks can cause emotional distress, anxiety, and depression in people who live with migraine.
Fortunately, Physical Therapy can be a useful tool in the management of Migraine! Here at PT Services of Rochester, we specialize in using exercise and manual therapy to help manage Migraine symptoms.
