Of course as an LMT I make contact with so many bodies. I hear your stories and often I feel the energy you carry regarding how you feel about your body. So let me be vulnerable for a moment.
Recently a fitness trainer reached out to me. I responded and I quote
“I gave up on the numbers 🥴 but if I could lose 10lbs and maintain at that “number” that would be wonderful. When I say maintain I mean, with walking and sauna being my minimum and knowing what to eat. It’s not that I don’t like exercise it works best for me in a group setting and I don’t always like people and I don’t always have time. I’d rather be home curled up with a book or some new dream or working.”
I mean, if nothing else I was honest 😳. Besides being overly honest I’d go back to she’s amazing! Yes I love people, but don’t catch me when I’m peopled out 😂.
However, that I don’t have time piece, looked at myself like girl, what do you mean?! That was a miscommunication. What I really wanted to say was, I’m ok with being at my baseline right now. I take time for that and I’ll build on it when I’m ready.
I feel like the pressure is always on, so I like to acknowledge when I don’t need more of it. This is how I protect my peace and practice loving me in all my seasons. The ones where I’m going hard and the one where I’m practicing to rest. Healthy is the goal, yes, it require discipline, yes. However, stay away from situations that trigger you into feeling unduly bad about where you are because your mental and emotional well being matters even more.
I say more because it’s an uphill battle getting your body to respond when your mind is not in sync.
Love the life you live! Build on your baseline. Perfection is your enemy and induces procrastination.
You got this! Don’t let even yourself tell you otherwise 👏🏽
