Happy New Year friends!

I have had on my mind to work on my writing skills, so here we go. It may be one and done. (Kind of like how people feel about starting an exercise routine.) But like I say to my clients , set a realistic goal to begin with and find success. So my goal is once a month.

January 2 , National Personal Trainer Awareness Day, Who Knew?

Today, when I got up, I had to decide if I was going to go ahead and drive thru the snow belt of Lake Erie and begin hiking a new trail in Ohio. The plans had been made in early December when I was in denial there was a potential for lake effect Snow storms😳.

After deliberation, The decision was made to be smart and stay home and focus on the my over arching life goal in front of me, stay healthy, safe and run.

One reason I love to run is I can be free and clear up my head. Today was no exception. I did not have a plan to write this post.

One of the first things I thought about when running today, was Olympic downhill Skier, Lyndsay Vonn, coming out of retirement at age 41 and making the Olympic team in 2026.

I can’t imagine doing what she has done skiing SO fast down hill on 2 skis. Remarkable! Scary!

That fear of mine started me thinking of the fear of writing and putting thoughts on paper. I admire those that do it and I know it takes practice just like being safe with exercise.

Im so grateful I can help others move easier and painfree or with less pain, safely.

Let’s Move into 2026 with flexibility and strength to make us and our Worlds, Better.

If you've been regularly active, that's great. If not, consider trying Japanese Walking, a form of interval walking that involves walking at different speeds for specified periods. For those new to this routine, start with 30 seconds of fast walking followed by 1 minute of slower walking, repeating for a self-determined duration. Consistency is key. As your fitness level improves, you'll be able to increase your intensity during the faster segments. Combine interval walking with strength, balance, and flexibility exercises two to three times a week.

Did you take your Vitamin D today?

Following excerpt from NPR.

ā€œVitamin D helps your body absorb calcium, keeping bones and muscles strong. It also plays a role in supporting your immune system. Lack of sun exposure during winter months can increase the risk of a deficiency.
The National Academy of Medicine recommends that adults get 600 to 800 international units (IU) of vitamin D per day, depending on your age.
Prevalence studies suggest up to 40% of adults in the U.S. have insufficient levels of vitamin D in their blood. In the absence of sun exposure, fortified foods such as milk and yogurt can help meet daily recommendations. And more than 1 in 3 adults ages 60 and older take a vitamin D supplementā€
