The Speaker Application for TEDxRIT 2020 is finally open ! We are very excited to announce that we will be having our event on April 11th 2020. The idea behind a TED talk is to give a voice to people who are doing incredible work in our community or have a powerful story to share. Our theme this year is Bridging the Gap, and we hope to find stories or work from individuals who are trying to bridge the gap in various fields of life whether it is the sciences, arts, or any other field. The theme can be interpreted in any way , but what we are looking for are original, relevant, and engaging content. Please share this application to anyone who would be interested !

Our 8th and last speaker we'd like to introduce is... Fuad Zain!!

Fuad is a passionate medical illustrator and also a doctor by profession. He currently teaches in Rochester Institute of Technology and Westfall Academy in Rochester, NY, while working on creating illustrations for a widely-known peer reviewed medical journal known as JACC (Journal of American College of Cardiology). He is a graduate in Clinical Medicine & also holds a master’s degree in Medical Illustration. He has been in the medical industry for last 6 years and have been closely associated with art from an early age. His area of interests are mainly medical illustration, graphic design, animation & clinical medicine with focus on anatomy and histopathology. When Fuad is not busy changing the world with his art, he enjoys a game of soccer.

Fuad will be presenting his TEDx talk, "Saving Lives as an Artist" - the role of medical illustration in improving health care practices.

Our seventh speaker we'd like to introduce is... Dorothy Anne!!

Dorothy is from the state with the top 2, 3 and 6 cities for violent r**e. She runs a network for people with trauma and a helping house as well as doing photography. Almost every day she meets with people, learns their story, and shares it with others - using her camera to document issues by catching profound images and to help spread awareness to the injustices around us. She has a specific interest in r**e culture, human trafficking, psychology, ethics, sociology, social sciences, mainstream education and most importantly: community engagement. She is constantly leading others to build themselves up while they are seeking healthy relationships in those around them. On a daily basis she inspires others to seek their passion, to expect integrity and to promote change in their environment.

Dorothy will be presenting her TEDx Talk "The Difference Between Survivors and Thrivers" - a talk on how we can empower ourselves and uplift others while putting abuse back on the shelf.
