A Letter From Dr. Tyler

Dear Valued Patients,

As I celebrate nearly 40 years of dentistry, I want to thank those who have given me the opportunity to be your dentist. Your trust and confidence in me and our University Dental Associates (“UDA”) staff over the years has been professionally rewarding and personally humbling. Dentistry has been an inextricable part of my identity and I truly consider patients to have been more like family. Although this role has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, I have decided it is time to transition to the next chapter and retire (or at least give it a try).

Many of you are aware that two years ago Dr. Kennedy and I sold UDA to Dr. Walby. This transition has been gradual and ensured that the UDA staff and patients are left in capable and caring hands. Dr. Walby will continue to lead the UDA staff in our commitment to the community and I could not be more pleased with his leadership efforts. Dr. Kennedy and Dr. Fanelli, who joined UDA in 2020, will continue to practice at UDA as Associate Dentists. Furthermore, our staff will remain diligent in nurturing the relationships we have worked hard to establish over the years.

My last day with UDA will be on Thursday, May 27, 2021. I will still be residing in Rochester and look forward to seeing many of you around town. If you have questions or would like to stay connected please do not hesitate to reach out via email: bpmect@sbcglobal.net .

To Our Dental Community,

Amid the growing concern over COVID-19, we as healthcare professionals feel it is our responsibility to help reduce the spread of the virus. We have taken every step until now to minimize exposure, but there are always concerns due to the nature of close patient proximity in our profession.

As a result, effective March 17th, 2020 we will suspend normal operations until further notice. We will be closely assessing and will realign with the recommendations of the State of Michigan and the Michigan Dental Association on whether it is safe to resume dental treatment. The doctors will remain available on an emergency basis if needed. If you experience a Dental Emergency, we can be reached at (248) 652-9116

This was an extremely difficult decision and we appreciate your understanding and support. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to continuing your regular care as timely as possible.

To Our Dental Community,

In lieu of recent events, we feel that it is necessary to address any concerns head on. We as an office are taking the proper precautions to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. As a medical facility, we will continue abide by the proper standards of care.

For the safety of everyone, we advise anyone who is feeling under the weather to please stay home. In the meantime, we will remain open and operational for those with current appointments or any other dental need.
