Do you know my WHY for Birth and Postpartum Support? It's because I didn't feel supported. I married young (we were 21) and we had our first at 20. My ex was busy playing video games and going to Phish concerts. He was an amazing Dad when he wanted to be, but diapers those were all me.
My parents lived close by, but we were raised with the belt and 30+ minute time outs. They did the BEST they could with the information they had, but it wasn't how I wanted to raise my kids
His Mom didn't really do babies, but she was happy to help us financially.
I felt like I was drowning. I was the first in the friend group to have a baby and everyone was away at college. I felt unseen and unheard.
The only group I was aware of was La Leche League and the women weren't interested in supporting a young mother.
So I offer birth and postpartum support so that pregnant people and new families can feel seen and supported.
