The best laid plans of mice and women often go awry. It was my intention to use my 2 weeks of close time to accomplish at least the above to do list (along with writing my 3 new classes and doing website, social media updates, etc.).
Unfortunately for me I started bleeding on 12/14 and didn't stop bleeding until yesterday. While some of you think this is TMI AFAB health simply isn't studied or talked about and we need to. A 20 day bleed would disrupt anyone's life (losing blood faster than our bodies can replace it, not to mention the iron deficiency). I have normally heavy and irregular cycles. This cycle was absolutely the worst I have ever experienced. Bleeding through overnight pads in less than an hour for 10 of those days. The others were my normal bleeding level of bleeding through overnight pads in 2-3 hours. What made the situation worse was the excessive and large clots. I normally have lots of large clots (quarter to half dollar sized) but this felt scarily too much even for me.
I was initially dismissed as part of "Perimenopause". This isn't Perimenopause at all. I have 0 Perimenopause symptoms and without hormone testing to confirm I am estrogen deficient, it isn't Perimenopause. IT IS ADENOMYOSIS. It HAS ALWAYS BEEN ADENOMYOSIS.
I was seen New Year's Eve Day for internal and external ultrasounds confirming my Adenomyosis is getting worse. Which also directly discounts my being in Perimenopause. Adenomyosis is Estrogen driven and progesterone sensitive. Did the Drs tell me this? No medical research papers out of the United Kingdom are where all of my education and information have come from.
I will be having a hysterectomy in 2026, which is the only actual solution for adenomyosis. That means I will be shutting down for 12 weeks at some point. I plan to be fully transparent here and keep everyone updated.
All of this to say I didn't have the physical energy to get to anything on my to do list. But I will be working on it in 2026.
January books are open. Please text (585)441-0945 to schedule an appointment. You can DM but it takes a little longer.
Happy New Year and I wish everyone the 2026 they are hoping for.
