41 years ago today in the "People" section of the Democrat and Chronicle featured nursing home residents from across the area and those who visited them during the holidays. Margaret Kenney, a St. John's Home resident at the time, was lucky enough to have her cousin Joe Egan not just visit for the holidays but twice weekly throughout the year. "I come up to see her because for many years there has been a great bond between the two of us," said Egan of Kenney, who the article noted was living with Alzheimer's disease. Egan and Kenney were pictured under the title "A different kind of happiness."

We know that once again this year, family members and friends of St. John's Home residents are showing them they care by visiting during the holiday season and throughout the year!
