Today, we pause to honor and remember the lives lost and the heroes who emerged on September 11th. As we reflect on this day of remembrance, we pay tribute to those who sacrificed so much and offer our deepest sympathies to the families and communities forever impacted.

At Harris Funeral Home, we understand the importance of coming together to support one another and cherish the memories of those we have lost. We stand with you in remembrance and offer our compassionate support during this time of reflection.

May we continue to find strength and unity in our shared memories and acts of kindness.

There’s an empty seat this year.

The family gathering still happens. The holiday still goes on. But someone who always made it feel complete… isn’t there this time. Maybe they’ve passed. Maybe their health keeps them away.

Even amidst laughter and celebration, there’s a quiet ache.

At Harris Funeral Home, we understand how deeply these moments can be felt, especially when life should feel joyful. If you’re moving through a season like this, carrying both love and sorrow, we see you.

You are not alone. And if planning ahead brings peace of mind for the days to come, we’re here whenever you’re ready to talk.

We’re excited to introduce you to Lyndsay, a valued member of our Pets at Peace team.

A proud Rochester native, Lyndsay’s passion for animals began at a young age and has grown into a lifelong calling. Today, she shares her home with 4 dogs, 4 cats, and even a pig!

When she’s not caring for pets, Lyndsay enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling with her boyfriend, exercising, and rescuing animals in need. She also treasures moments with her family and friends.

Today, on Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, we take a moment to honor the cherished pets who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Our pets bring immense joy, love, and companionship into our lives, and their memory remains in our hearts forever.

At Harris Funeral Home, we understand the profound bond between pets and their families. Losing a pet can be just as heartbreaking as losing a human loved one. Today, let's celebrate the lives of our furry friends and the special moments we shared with them.

If you've lost a beloved pet, here are some ways to remember and honor them:

📸 Create a Memory Album: Gather photos and mementos to create a tribute to your pet's life.

🌸 Plant a Memorial Garden: Dedicate a space in your garden to your pet, with their favorite flowers or a memorial stone.

💖 Share Your Story: Connect with others who understand your loss by sharing your pet's story and the joy they brought to your life.

🕯️ Light a Candle: Take a quiet moment to light a candle in remembrance of your pet and reflect on the happy times you had together.

Our pets may no longer be with us physically, but their spirit and the love they gave us live on. If you need support or resources during this time, Harris Funeral Home is here to help.

Meet Susan! Our Head Pet Care Coordinator here at Pets at Peace.

A proud Rochester native, Susan has been a cornerstone of the Pets at Peace family since we began in 2009. Her dedication and compassion have touched countless families and pets over the years.

Susan’s greatest pride is her daughter, Ann Marie, who inspires her every day. When she’s not supporting our community, you’ll find Susan soaking up the outdoors and enjoying nature’s beauty.

We’re so grateful to have Susan’s heart and experience on our team! 💙

The Harris Family Difference

Times have certainly changed since Paul W. Harris established our funeral home in Rochester in 1946. But our commitment to caring for the people in our community has not. Three generations and 70 years later, we’re still serving the needs of Rochester families as one of the oldest independent, family-owned and operated funeral homes and cremation services in our area.

We understand there are other funeral homes in the area to choose from, but there is a reason why families select Harris Funeral Home more often than others. Our philosophy is simple, treat every family as we would like to be treated! We offer world class service and our facilities are state of the art with many accommodating features.

The families who turn to us during a time of loss or for pre arrangement counseling experience our very high standards of service. These standards not only include transparency in funeral pricing but business practices as well.

Our Mission is to care for your family as we would care for members of our own family by providing information, services and merchandise of the highest quality at competitive prices in a dignified and professional manner. We promise to listen to your wishes and always value your trust. We pledge to maintain the reputation our family owned and operated firm has earned by acting with honesty, integrity and sensitivity. It is our policy to go the extra mile in offering the best in personal care before, during and after death.
