I was looking for one of my all-time favorite poems, “the truth”, by Randall Jarrell .
I always feel an exquisite connection to things when I read it out loud to myself. I remember one of my teachers, Marvin Bell, may he rest in peace, who was the first to read it to me . But today I found a different poem by Jarrell. I think it is much more famous than “the truth”, maybe even as famous as “the death of the ball turret gunner”. It is wonderful in both large and small ways, “ The woman at the Washington zoo “, and you can find it here if you are curious and you would like to read it : https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/48391/the-woman-at-the-washington-zoo.
Blessings and kindness to your day.
