Limb Lab

Limb Lab Limb Lab provides personal, creative, and cutting edge solutions to improve function for our clients. Connect and create. What's on your Bucket List?

We have been doing that our entire lives. We connect with patients and doctors to create exceptional prosthetic and orthotic devices. We connect our patients to their dreams of movement, creating new opportunities for them based on the latest technology. We connect with our patients and their families, to create a stronger community. We connect with industry leaders, creating the best business pra

ctices for our profession. At Limb Lab we thrive on innovation, artistry, and relationships. We want our patients to have incredible experiences as they re-create themselves and their lives through prosthetic devices. Our patients are people who are on the "go," who refuse to be limited by limb loss, who are looking to the future with optimism and excitement. Do you want to: Run a marathon? Jump out of an airplane? Walk your daughter down the aisle? Type a letter, and press "send?" Let us get you there; your goals are our goals.

In this powerful episode of Limb Lab: Lives, we sit down with Coach Randy Knecht, a former Cochrane–Fountain City basketball and football coach, longtime DJ, and client at our Limb Lab La Crosse office.

Randy opens up about his life with diabetes, the ups and downs of his coaching career, his childhood, and how he first found his way into sports. From the court to the DJ booth, his story is full of unexpected turns and unwavering determination.

He reflects on how his life today mirrors the rhythm of a basketball game — full of momentum shifts, challenges, and moments that demand perseverance. His perspective on life, loss, and resilience is raw and honest, especially as he shares the experience of losing his legs and choosing to fight forward for the sake of his kids.

Randy talks about the process of receiving his prosthetics, the connection he felt with the Limb Lab team, and how clear communication and trust made all the difference. Now, being able to walk again brings him a sense of joy and purpose he holds onto every day whilst fighting his health issues.

He lives by the motto: Don’t give up. Don’t ever give up.
And in a touching full-circle moment, he shares how former players he once coached are now encouraging and supporting him.

Thank you, Coach, for sharing your story and for showing us all what it means to keep going.

Pass this video onto some friends to show some love to the legendary Coach Randy Knecht!

Meet Cory Kudlacek from David City, Nebraska. A proud sixth-generation farmer, Cory works the land growing corn and soybeans with unwavering dedication. With a great sense of humor and a deep love for both family and farming, Cory sees agriculture not as a job, but a way of life.

He and his wife Kay share a strong bond and a love for adventure—they’ve traveled the world together, which remains one of Cory’s greatest joys. Of all the blessings in his life, Cory is most grateful for Kay and the support she’s given him through every season.

A few years ago, Cory suffered an accident that affected the function of his hand. But with help from Limb Lab and 's Carbonhand—an intelligent, grip-strengthening glove—he’s regaining the ability to do what he loves most.

“You just have to adapt in life—there is no ‘can’t,’” Cory says. He’s faced significant obstacles, but his message to the world is simple and powerful: “Live life to the fullest, and don’t be afraid to lean on your family and friends when you need to.”

Cory extends his deepest thanks to Limb Lab, Bioservo, his medical team, friends, and family—but most of all, to his wife, for everything she continues to do.

Meet Walter, his loving mum, and Claudia—a family friend who helped guide him through the day. Walter’s mum has shared her heartfelt thanks with everyone at Limb Lab Rochester, especially his clinicians—Trent and Erin, with Brandon stepping in to assist—who’ve demonstrated compassion and outstanding expertise.

Thanks also to Ottobock for donating devices that will restore Walter’s mobility and independence. Walter’s journey began in 2021 in Lima, Peru, during the simple joy of running and swimming with his siblings—until unexpected pain led to discovering a rare leg tumor.

They made their way to Mayo Clinic, where, in early April 2025, doctors performed a life-saving amputation due to severe infection.Despite the cancer now spreading to his lungs, with no treatment options available, Walter’s strength and unwavering optimism, alongside his mum’s love, continue to inspire everyone at Limb Lab.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity of Ottobock and honored to support Walter and his family. Shout out to the wonderful work of Mayo Clinic too!

Join us in sharing some love with Walter and his family at this difficult time!
