Because sleep health will be advanced by information, WSS will strive to advance knowledge about sleep and its disorders amongst both healthcare workers and the general public. This will include both education about the means to “healthy sleep” as well as awareness of the adverse consequences of sleep dysfunction on the quality of life and the health of an individual. To address the concerns of sp

ecific areas of the world, WSS will provide a forum for discussion and consideration of issues of relevance to particular regions and cultures.

WSS has published a landmark set of recommendations on the consumer health trackers (CHTs) for sleep measurement in Sleep Medicine.

The recommendations are wide-ranging and practical, providing specific guidance for each stakeholder: consumer, clinician, researcher, and manufacturer.

Growing user adoption of CHTs and their increasing technical capabilities create tremendous potential to better understand sleep and thereby improve health and wellness for all.

Read the recommendations, apply them as appropriate in your research and clinical practice, and stay connected with World Sleep Society as we aspire to build upon this work and use CHTs to advance sleep health worldwide.
