This is what happens when you only consume media of thin bodies—your understanding of what bodies look like becoms extremely skewed. (Not to mention, this is the kind of comment you feel proud to post when you’re very unhappy and base your worth on your small body size.)

When I hear the term "food noise," I don't think, "I can't stop thinking about food." (Thinking about food is normal.) Instead, I think about "all the nonsense we are taught to believe about food." Follow The Nutrition Tea for great content like this!

Body acceptance is a journey. Some days are easier than others. Take the photos, live your best life!

I hate this photo of me.
Stop. Right. There.
I’m not saying that for sympathy. Please don’t hit me with the “but you’re beautiful” comments—because I am beautiful. I know I am.

But sometimes even people who say “wear the swimsuit, take the picture, live your life” find themselves looking at a photo and thinking… “yeah, no.”
This doesn’t look like how I feel I look. But it’s me. I know it’s me. I just don’t love it.
And that’s allowed.

There are so many photos, videos, and screenshots of me that I don’t love. Some are downright unflattering. I’ve lost count.
And people always ask—how are you so confident?

Here’s the truth:
Confidence doesn’t come from only seeing your best angles.
It comes from also seeing the “bad” ones, the weird ones, the ones you didn’t pose for—and not flinching.
Not deleting them right away.
Looking at them.
Then looking in the mirror and reminding yourself:
It’s all you. And you are so much more than one photo.

You’re not a 2D image.
You are a whole person.
A person worth loving in every frame—even the ones you don’t like.

I’m guessing because I’m fat, people who are actively losing weight often feel compelled—SUPER compelled—to try to talk to me about it. Some days I’m patient and explain why I don’t engage in those conversations. A lot of the time, I have to be very blunt about it, because they won’t let it go.

Thank you to this person for sharing their story. If you want a glimpse into how a lot of people feel about fat bodies, you’ll see plenty of examples in the horrifying comments this person has received. Existing in a fat body in this world is a radical act!

This is diet culture. This ad, about looking ten pounds lighter, features a very slender woman. This swimsuit isn't making her look smaller—she's already small. If she took this suit off, she would still be thin, and I very much doubt she would look any different than she does with it on.

But think about the message this ad is selling: Even a very slender woman needs a suit that slims her. And if SHE needs one, you DEFINITELY do.

See how that works? They prey on your insecurities by amplifying them. Pay attention to how many ads for things that shrink you (clothing, procedures, pills) showcase already slender people, and think about how that is intentionally designed to manipulate your feelings—and your wallet.

This applies to people in the public eye, too!

With the resurgence in popularity of conventional attractiveness & the influx of “skinny” content, I just gotta make this be known.

What people choose to do with their bodies is no one’s business, and I highly suggest you keep your opinions to yourselves.
