Kristin has a genuine and practical approach and works with individuals, couples, and families from a strengths-based perspective to take a look at natural ways to create change in their lives. Kristin recently joined "Modern Therapy Services", under the Clinical Supervision of Nicole Crump, LCSW-R. She is accepting clients in person, by phone, or TeleHealth, during flexible day and evening hours, with a few weekend slots available. Kristin provides balanced, creative solutions and action-oriented guidance in a compassionate and caring way, within a warm and comfortable setting. For those open to it, Kristin can provide spiritual direction, guided meditation (live or recorded audio), and connection to alternative healing methods and energy work, such as reiki. Kristin has education in Graphic Design from RIT, a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Special Education from SUNY Geneseo, and a Master's of Social Work from Syracuse University in Family Mental Health. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Addiction Recovery, Infant Mental Health, and various modalities of Family Therapy. Kristin is a visual artist, writer, and social entrepreneur that founded and ran an award-winning Not-for-Profit organization, ArtPeace, educating and employing through arts, technology, and creative entrepreneurship. The rippling impact of this work is being highlighted in a current documentary film project. She is a published author, having written "Keeping the Arts Alive", about creating and maintaining arts programs in schools and the community. Kristin has also written several children's books that are not yet published and is illustrating one written by a close friend. She has a strong background in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, social and transformative justice, and restorative practices. Her most favorite role is Mama to her two young adult kids, Shealyn Kassidy Rose and Jesse Lukas.
