🍋 National Lemonade Day at Marcella Manor! 🍋

This weekend, our amazing residents and staff brought the sunshine indoors with a cheerful lemonade stand to celebrate National Lemonade Day! 💛

Tangy lemonade, sweet treats, and plenty of smiles were served up with love as we welcomed family and loved ones to join in the fun. It was a refreshing day full of laughter, connection, and community spirit — the perfect way to kick off the summer season. ☀️💐

The sun was shining ☀️, the breeze was perfect 🌿, and Marcella Manor got a major weekend glow-up!

The Boss Lady 👩‍🌾, Dianne 🌸, and our amazing staff 🌟 rolled up their sleeves and got to work. We planted the last of the annuals in pots 🪴, refreshed the perennial gardens 🌼, pulled weeds 🌱, trimmed shrubs ✂️, and cleared vines from the fence line 🧹.

Even our favorite four-legged helpers, Mercer 🩵🐕‍🦺 and Maverick 💛🦮, made a special appearance to supervise (and maybe sniff a few flowers)!

We also got the vegetable garden planted—and it’s going to be a delicious season! 🍅🫑🥒🥬🥒🥕 This year’s haul includes tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, zucchini, green beans (Dianne’s favorite!) 🌿, watermelon 🍉, cantaloupe 🍈, and celery.

Now it’s time to sit back, relax in the sunshine 🌞, and watch the fruits (and veggies!) of our labor bloom and grow. Cheers to a beautiful, bountiful season at Marcella Manor! 🌻✨

If you’ve been following Marcella Manor for a while, you know that celebrations are a big part of life around here. Marcella herself loved to throw birthday parties for everyone—complete with laughter, good company, and thoughtful surprises. 👵🏻💜

Today, we kept that tradition going by celebrating the fabulous Dianne’s birthday! It only seemed fitting that our former hairdresser 💇🏻‍♀️ extraordinaire was gifted a set of salon-worthy hair products and a brand-new blow dryer—because style never goes out of fashion, and neither does Dianne’s sparkle. ✨

Last week, Marcella Manor was honored with a deeply heartfelt gift—a beautiful wildlife print from the art collection of our beloved Curly’s dear friend, Jerry, given in Curly’s honor.

Jerry was no stranger to Marcella Manor. He often visited to spend time with Curly, and the two shared countless stories of their adventures—whether they were hunting, teaching, golfing, or just enjoying the simple pleasures of life. Afternoons of happy hours and haircuts were made even better by their laughter and friendship.

The loss of Curly left a space in our hearts that words can't quite fill. But the love that continues to surround his memory brings us comfort and deep gratitude. This gift is more than just art—it’s a reflection of a life well lived and well loved.

Thank you, Jerry, for sharing such a meaningful piece in honor of your friend. And thank you to Joy and the entire family for allowing us to continue celebrating Curly’s legacy here at Marcella Manor.

The sun was shining ☀️, the flower pots 🪴 were ready, and the ladies wasted no time getting their hands in the dirt. Digging 🪏 in and planting isn’t just good for the body—it’s nourishment for the soul.

They filled each pot with bright blooms of geraniums, petunias, alyssum, stock, marigolds, vinca, and more. 🪻🌼🌷🌺 As they worked, memories of gardens past came to life—stories of favorite flowers, childhood yards, and long summer days spent outside. 🍉 🕶️ ⛱️

A big thank you to the wonderful staff who made this special afternoon possible. They report that dirt was everywhere—a sure sign that a good time was had by all! 😊

Rain? ✅ Wind? ✅ Gloomy skies? ✅ ✅

None of it stood a chance against Dianne’s determination to get to the greenhouses. She marched in like a woman on a mission—deadheading every plant in sight and attempting to haul a giant bag of potting soil like it was a sack of feathers. 🪶

Pretty sure she gave the boss lady a minor heart attack. 10/10 would not recommend… but also, kind of iconic. As Dianne says “its nothing, im a farm girll” 😳

Now she’s brought a little color and cheer back to Marcella Manor—just the dose of sunshine we needed while we wait for the real thing to show up! 💐 🌼 🌺 🌻

She’s more than a nurse. She’s a mentor, a motivator, and the steady hand guiding us through every shift. With compassion in her heart and strength in her stride, she leads by example — reminding us daily what it truly means to serve, heal, and care.
