With financial support from Mayo Graduate School, PhD students are fully funded (tuition and stipend) for five years of their graduate training. This unique funding model empowers our graduate students to choose a thesis advisor from among hundreds of Mayo Clinic research labs without having to worry about losing stipend support after the first few years.

Two Mayo Clinic physician-scientists have been named to the American Society of Clinical Investigation – Liewei Wang, M.D., Ph.D. (MPET ’03, PHAR ’03), Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics; and Martin Fernandez-Zapico, M.D. (GI ’02), Division of Medical Oncology.
