Mental Health Counselors of Greater Rochester We are committed to enhancing interdisciplinary relationships and wellness.

NYMHCA of Greater Rochester exists to advance the profession of Mental Health Counseling and clinical excellence through education, networking and peer support. The Mental Health Counselors of Greater Rochester, a Chapter of the New York State Mental Health Counselors Association(NYMHCA), was established in 2003 to support the needs of local counselors, mental health providers and students. MHCGR hosts monthly trainings to support the professional development of its members and always looks within its membership for keynote presenters on topics such as Domestic Violence, Disasters and Mental Health Implications, State Licensure, Energy Psychology, Neuroscience and MH, SDT, Gerontology, Sexual Addictions, Obesity, and more...

A reminder about our February chapter meeting! Come hear about the Monroe County FIT Team!

First hour is our business meeting and the second will be a presentation on the Monroe County FIT (Forensic Intervention Team) by Lindsay Baron, LCSW, and Aubrey Baldauf, LMSW. The FIT team coordinators with 11 law enforcement agencies in Monroe County to partner mental health clinicians with law enforcement offers to provide immediate assistance to people in crisis.

Here's the information for our February chapter meeting! Come hear about the Monroe County FIT Team!

Please join us for our December chapter meeting, December 13, 2025, 10:00 am-12:00 pm.
10:00-11:00 will be our business meeting, and from 11:00-12:00 we are very pleased to welcome our guest speaker, Dr. April Aycock, Director of the Monroe County Office of Mental Health, to update us on the status and challenges of mental health care in Monroe County.
