The Facial Pain Association (FPA) recently hosted its first in-person meeting since 2019, bringing together patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals from across the country.

The event was both meaningful and well attended, with patients traveling from all over the U.S. to connect, learn, and share their experiences. Several members of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain (AAOP) participated as speakers, offering expert insights and education on facial pain conditions. AAOP is proud to support the FPA’s mission and continues to collaborate closely, including through mutual support at each organization’s annual meetings.

June is Migraine Awareness Month, and it’s a good reminder of the important role we play as orofacial pain specialists in helping patients navigate complex head and facial pain. Migraines often share symptoms with conditions like temporomandibular disorders, nerve-related facial pain, and even dental pain. This is why accurate diagnosis is the first step toward effective treatment.
