Carmen’s outstanding dedication, positivity, and lasting impact have earned her the Standing Ovation, one of ABC’s highest honors, selected by our Leadership Team. After first being recognized with the High Five Award, it is exciting to celebrate her again with this well-deserved recognition!

For the past 40 years, Carmen has gone above and beyond in every aspect of her role. From inviting individuals to engage in meaningful activities to keeping our spaces safe during the winter months, she consistently steps up wherever needed. Her flexibility, including adjusting her schedule to meet agency needs, and her commitment to ensuring vehicles are always road-ready demonstrate her deep sense of responsibility and care.

As a natural leader, DOT-certified driver, and trainer, Carmen brings both joy and safety to those around her. Her genuine spirit, tireless work ethic, and ability to make everyone feel included have earned her the admiration of individuals, staff, vendors, and the broader community.

Congratulations, Carmen! Your commitment and compassion shine every day, and this recognition is so well deserved. 🎉

Congratulations to Mimi for winning the Lowry Award!!

Mimi earned this award because of the meaningful progress she has made in communication, responsibility, and workplace flexibility. She now consistently communicates with her PC if she is running late or unwell and makes the effort to still attend work by taking a later bus when needed. Mimi has grown in her interpersonal skills, engaging in conversations with staff and peers and participating in daily social activities. She has also become more adaptable on the job, completing multi-step tasks and willingly switching duties mid-shift to meet order demands.

Keep up the great work, Mimi!

Every other week, the ABC crew arrives at Bigelow Homes to provide cleaning services. What began as a service partnership has grown into a consistent community employment opportunity where team members like Rachel, Craig, and Seth build skills, switch up tasks, and really take pride in what they do. With support from their DSP, Melissa, they’re gaining more independence while still delivering solid, reliable work in a community job setting.

Staff at Bigelow welcome the crew by name, creating a respectful and inclusive workplace where folks feel valued. The result is more than a clean building - it’s paid work, growing confidence, and a stronger sense of connection and belonging. This partnership demonstrates how inclusive employment can meet business needs while creating meaningful opportunities for people with disabilities.
