Introducing Rochester Recovers! 💜

In 2024, Doc's Recovery House was awarded the Social Innovation Grant from the Mayo Clinic Department of Medicine, a grant aimed at solving identified problems in the community through digital tools - improving substance use, mental health and access to care.

The resulting outcome - Rochester Recovers - a community resource website that brings local resources related to substance use and recovery to one place.

We welcome all feedback and input to make this resource as comprehensive as possible - the website will be updated on an ongoing basis, and we have big plans for ways the community can get involved and contribute to this helpful resource for years to come.

Attn: Peer Recovery Specialists! Join us tomorrow from 12p-2p at the Robert J. Felten Community Center as we resume our monthly continuing education series, the Community of Practice for Peer Recovery Specialists.

Tomorrow, we'll be joined by Gayle Olsen and Nelle Moriarty with Community Pathways to Family Health & Recovery (CPFHR), who will discuss the role of family members in the recovery process, and implications for peers.

Cost is $10, lunch is provided, and a certificate for 2 CEUs will be awarded at the close of the class.

Our next Recovery Coach Academy is coming up in just under one month, kicking off on Monday, August 11th - we still have a few spots available for those interested in participating in this wonderful training opportunity! 🧡

The training is available for both individuals in recovery and allies of the recovery community interested in completing the course to learn more about the peer recovery specialist field, and how they can support individuals in recovery.

Sending our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended yesterday’s Lion’s Club Golf Tournament in honor of Robert Felten. ⛳️

It was a beautiful day for golf at Willow Creek Golf Course, followed by a wonderful dinner banquet, and a silent and live auction.

Thank you to all who came out to our Pancake Breakfast fundraiser this morning! Great turnout with lots of familiar and new faces.

Huge shout out to Chefs Steve and Mark for manning the griddles and cooking up delicious pancakes and sausage — and to the many volunteers who helped today. 🥞

Fellowship and good food are one of our favorite things around here at Doc’s House, and we loved hosting you all for breakfast this morning. 🧡
