Join me March 27th for a gentle Spring Cleanse to boost immunity, re-set your digestive system, and give your mind a little R & R!

Are you feeling the sensation of the imminent arrival of Spring? Join Lara Johnson for a one-day Spring Cleanse, to help prepare your body and mind for the shifting season. This cleanse beings with a Zoom Tutorial on Thursday March 25th, and culminates with a day of reset and rejuvenation on March 27th.
Check out the flyer here for more information, and email larasagewellness@gmail.com to sign up.

"You may feel spring unfolding within you or in the world around you as the white, yellow and purple crocuses shoot up signaling the fertility of spring. Spring is a time to w**d the soil of our gardens, getting rid of the clutter so new life may sprout. In our own bodies, it is a time to clear things out so the body, mind and spirit may feel light, energized and rejuvenated come warmer weather.

Often if there is gunk in the way, our bodies will signal to us that we need a little spring cleaning. Due to the heavy, stable and grounding qualities that we need during winter, we may notice things aren't moving as efficiently in our bodies. There might be stagnation or excess. You may be feeling some heaviness/lethargy, have a hard time getting out of bed, or you might notice some skin reactions, headaches, allergies, or you might feel like you just keep getting sick. All these are reminders from our bodies to give ourselves a little love and attention, to release what we don't need anymore.

This cleanse is a gentle reset to feel revived and renewed for the season to come so that your dreams may come into fruition as the spring flowers bloom."

We're excited to announce a three-part series that Lara Johnson is teaching on Ayurvedic Health and Wellness. Starts this Wednesday (July 8th) and you can join for one course or all three!

The first session will be an introduction to Ayurvedic digestion/ nutrition, the connection between food and the mind, how to understand your own individual appetite/ digestion and tips to introduce for improved digestion. Since there is a lot to cover, the first session may extend just a little over an hour.

The second session is all about eating seasonally for summer. I will discuss how to incorporate different foods, spices, and herbs to pacify more general health conditions that get aggravated in the summer; and how to use food medicinally. This session will be an hour long and we should have more time available for questions.

The third session will go off the second and include summer recipes for staying balanced during this season and how to use foods/recipes to promote healing as well as a calm, clear mind. This session will also be an hour long.

I want to update you on what is happening here at the Studio. Due to COVID-19, we started seeing clients virtually 10 weeks ago. Our online classes have been exhilarating and fun! Lara’s meditation class has continued to deepen and calm us during this time, which has been much needed. As for the private sessions, I feel that I am right there next to my client. It has definitely been a change and as much as I miss seeing people in person, I think our clients would say that it has gone quite well!

The upside to virtual appointments is that you can continue your practice right in the comfort and safety of your home, without having to wear a mask or go anywhere. We are able to get a lot accomplished at each virtual session, as there are no distractions. (Bonus, your pets are welcome! They can be very helpful when additional weight is needed to make the exercise more effective and difficult.) Another added benefit is that we are also able to work with clients who are out-of-town. Currently we are seeing clients from Albuquerque, California, The Berkshires, and Cape Cod, in addition to Rochester!

With the help of Zoom, we are continuing both private sessions for Nutrition Counseling* and Pilates, as well as our Group Pilates classes. We have also added a Group Fitness class and a Mediation Session.

This is schedule of our current class offerings:
Monday: 10–11 AM Fitness Class (Ellen)
Tuesday: 9:15-9:45 AM Meditation (Lara)
Wednesday: 10-11 AM Yoga/Pilates (Lara)
Friday: 11 AM–12 PM Pilates: Strong Beginner/Intermediate (Ellen)

*If you are interested in beginning Nutrition Counseling during this time, we do have some availability to add new clients.
