Everyone starts somewhere.

🖤 Some people come to us having done another fitness program for years but want something new.

🧡 Some people come to us as former athletes who miss the challenge that came with training.

They know our workouts will give them the same level of challenge and sense of accomplishment that they’re craving.

💜 Some people come to us having never worked out before but know they need support to get started.

💚 Some people come to us feeling like they’ve tried everything and nothing worked... but they’re ready to try one more time.

Working out is NOT a chore. It’s a gift.

Somewhere along the way so many of us built a negative mindset around working out.

We think things like:

“I have to do this so I burn off calories”

or, “I’m too fat and out of shape to workout”

or “I only workout so I don’t gain weight”

or “I hate doing this, but I’ve gotta do something.”

But working out isn’t about punishing ourselves for eating too much, skipping even getting started because it’s only for fit people, or doing things we hate for the sake of being healthy.

Working out is about taking care of your body.

It’s about relieving stress and taking care of your mental health just as much as your physical health.

It’s about feeling good and being proud of yourself for achieving something challenging.

It was never a bad thing, the mainstream media just taught us that it was.

Love your body. Move your body. Take care of your body.

And find ways to do it that you actually enjoy! It’s meant to be fun. 🖤

Trust that the detours of your life are leading you where you're meant to be.

Trust that the delays you encounter are teaching you what you need to learn to reach your goals.

Trust that you're right where you should be this very moment.

You're not behind. You're not too slow. You're not off course. You're exactly where you should be.

Your path isn't going to look like anyone else's, that's the beauty of life, each person is different.

Do workout classes actually help beginners?

You've never worked out before, and you're second-guessing trying a class...

We get it, it's scary!

But you should try the class anyway, and this is why...

You should try it because if you've never worked out before, you want someone who can tell you what to do for your workout and why. You don't want to overdo it, but you want to get a good workout in!

If you've never worked out before you want a coach there that can help you learn each movement correctly and help keep you safe.

If you've never worked out before, we won't lie, it won’t be easy and you’ll want support! Our community will be here to cheer you on.

Group classes are great for beginners because trying to stick to doing anything alone is hard.

At The Detour Gym, our staff knows you by name because you're more than just a number. 🖤

At The Detour Gym, our coaches listen to how you're feeling and what you're struggling with, and we try to find ways to help.

At The Detour Gym, you're not just another person who goes to our gym... you're a member of our community, and everyone here wants to support you and cheer you on.

Yes, you can find gym memberships that cost less than ours, and if you just want to do your workout and be left alone, those gyms might be the right place for you.

But if you want to feel like more than a number, find a gym where you not only have support and a caring community but where:

✅ You’ll have workouts planned for you.

✅ Coaches who can help you modify movements if necessary.

✅ And experts in fitness and nutrition that can help you reach your goals.

How do you measure success?

How do you determine if what you're doing is working?

So often we write things off as 'not working simply because they're not working as fast as we want.

But that doesn't mean the plan isn’t working at all.

It doesn't mean you're not making progress.

Before you give up on your dreams and goals, take a second to shift your perspective and look for the little wins.

Showing up at the gym is usually the hardest part.

Once you get there, you can do the workout, no problem.

So, how do you become motivated to show up?

You find a workout program you LOVE.

You find something that's fun.

You find a community of people that inspires you, supports you, and motivates you.

When you enjoy the gym you go to, you look forward to going.

You don't have to talk yourself into it because it's the best hour of your day.

If you want to go to the gym to feel like that, we'd love to have you check us out.

We prioritize fun.

We prioritize the workouts being challenging, but in a way that makes you want to show up and see if you can do it.

And we prioritize community and diversity.
