I have 20+ years’ experience serving individuals and families in the Rochester area. I specialize My own journey has informed my approach to counseling.

It is person-centered and strengths-based. I use techniques common in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help people find contentment in their lives. I am experienced in traditional mental health interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which can help people develop skills to improve relationships and one’s ability to manage painful, fearful or uncomfortable emotions. I embrace the addition of meditation and yoga to traditional “talk therapy”, employing both in sessions. I have found all of these aspects indispensable in my life's journey.

I was just talking about this in a class I teach

The social work literature typically frames self-disclosure as a complex and controversial use-of-self practice. Inquiring minds still want to know: "Should I do it or not?" That question is too simple.
