Update: Well we are day 3 at home and if I do say so myself Robbie and I are kicking butt (oh yeah mom too haha)!!! Wednesday was a rest and reboot day, with doing some walking, making sure all the meds are on time, shower, dinner with Jeremy and her grand pup Jules, then watching one of our shows. Thursday, Robbie and mom headed back to Rochester for a check in with her new post transplant team. (Love that word post!!!) and everything went great and they were able to take out the few stitches she had, staples are still in, waiting for when they will start that process but it looks good and healing! Today, is busy day with another appointment later this afternoon. Overall not bad haha!!!

And we are on the way home!!

Hi everyone!!! I know it’s been a few days since I posted, but we were just enjoying being with mom and also go through some trainings. Mom is having an ok day and had her surgical drain taken out and she will be sprung later this afternoon!!! Now, it the hard part, the continuing healing process!!

Morning everyone! Sorry I didn’t do an update yesterday, we were enjoying being with mom and watching her continue to be a Rock Star!!! But seriously, she has been doing great. Walking around the unit, sitting up in the chair most of the day with a little nap in the afternoon, continuing to be sassy as all get out haha. All the nurses, therapies and doctors are giving her the keep it up you are doing great speeches when they come in. She had visitors yesterday Lisaanne and her sister Susan. Old family friends of our her sister Marietta and someone mom use to babysit. Lisa also brought Rob and I a care package of some really great goodies that you know we already busted into haha. Then last night around 9 they moved mom down to the transplant organ recovery floor!! Another step in the right direction!! On a side note, Rob and I were able to have dinner with your cousins Sean and Hannah and their daughter Nora! All around a great day!!

Update: Mom is still doing great! Walking around the unit, sitting in the chair and resting on and off. But the best part is she had some visitors besides Robbie and me! Thank you Jeremy (Jen’s husband) and Wendy (family friend)!!!

Last update of the day: Mom is still doing really great!! She is now on a liquid diet for right now and she was ok with that as long as she was able to have something to drink and her ice chips. She is staying in the ICU for one more night and let’s cross our fingers she will be in transplant recovery tomorrow. She was able to talk to her siblings and was in heaven! I think the staff is falling in love with mom like we all have because she was still being full of sass!

Update of the day:
Mom is doing great!!! She was up and moving with PT and OT this morning, with speech coming in later this afternoon for swallowing eval. The surgeon is happy with everything and wants her to be sitting up and moving her arms and legs to keep the blood moving. Everything is moving forward for her to be moved off the ICU unit and down to the transplant recovery unit. She is awake and chatting and of course giving Robbie and me a hard time!! 🤣

Update of the night! Mom had a great day. She was very sleepy and slept the majority of the day which is good. She’s had PT come in. She’s had speech come in. All working towards the goal of getting her better. The surgeon stopped by and said that everything is trending up. The moments she was awake, we were able to tell her that everybody is thinking of her Sending their love and praying. And she had the biggest smiles on her face. Her spirits are up and we couldn’t ask for anything more!

Good morning everyone! Mom had a good night and is doing good! In all the craziness yesterday we weren’t able to everyone that she was able to get a full liver! She is resting comfortably now.

We just got the call that mom is getting stitched up!! She is doing well and her numbers are looking good, this is important because it means her liver is starting to function properly!! Robbie and I are over the moon!!! They will be moving her up to icu in about an hour her surgeon said, and would call us if there are any changes.
Thank you everyone !!!!!!!!!! We will continue to keep you posted!!

Hi everyone!! Robbie and I would like to say that all your prayers, love and support worked!!! Mom is here in Rochester (Strong Memorial) getting a sliver of a liver!!!!

Yesterday around 4:30 pm we received a call saying they had a liver for her that was a match and asked if she wanted it. Through tears of happiness it was a, “oh my goodness YES!!!”

We were told to get here by 9 pm to start the process. We got in around 8, got up to her room, and met her first round nurses and the doctor.

As you imagine sleep was a little tough with getting poked and prodded throughout the night but she was able to get a little. Her surgeon came in around 7:30 am to talk logistics with her and within the next few hours, Robbie and I got to walk down to pre op. Lots of laughter and a few tears to get her spirits up. Met with most of the her surgical team and head surgeon, who personally came over to stay hi to us before heading to be with mom.

Now this surgery is very long. She will be in there for 10 hours or more. They will be calling us to give us updates throughout the surgery. Once she is out of surgery she will be taken to ICU for a couple of days, then moved to the transplant recovery floor.

When we hear something we will make sure to post on here. We would like to say please be patient with us to get back to you, we will it just might take some time.

Again, we cannot thank you all enough for the prayers, love and support you have all shown not just mom but our whole family as well. Know that we love all of you and keeping everyone in our prayers as well!
