Update of the night! Mom had a great day. She was very sleepy and slept the majority of the day which is good. She’s had PT come in. She’s had speech come in. All working towards the goal of getting her better. The surgeon stopped by and said that everything is trending up. The moments she was awake, we were able to tell her that everybody is thinking of her Sending their love and praying. And she had the biggest smiles on her face. Her spirits are up and we couldn’t ask for anything more!

Good morning everyone! Mom had a good night and is doing good! In all the craziness yesterday we weren’t able to everyone that she was able to get a full liver! She is resting comfortably now.

We just got the call that mom is getting stitched up!! She is doing well and her numbers are looking good, this is important because it means her liver is starting to function properly!! Robbie and I are over the moon!!! They will be moving her up to icu in about an hour her surgeon said, and would call us if there are any changes.
Thank you everyone !!!!!!!!!! We will continue to keep you posted!!

Hi everyone!! Robbie and I would like to say that all your prayers, love and support worked!!! Mom is here in Rochester (Strong Memorial) getting a sliver of a liver!!!!

Yesterday around 4:30 pm we received a call saying they had a liver for her that was a match and asked if she wanted it. Through tears of happiness it was a, “oh my goodness YES!!!”

We were told to get here by 9 pm to start the process. We got in around 8, got up to her room, and met her first round nurses and the doctor.

As you imagine sleep was a little tough with getting poked and prodded throughout the night but she was able to get a little. Her surgeon came in around 7:30 am to talk logistics with her and within the next few hours, Robbie and I got to walk down to pre op. Lots of laughter and a few tears to get her spirits up. Met with most of the her surgical team and head surgeon, who personally came over to stay hi to us before heading to be with mom.

Now this surgery is very long. She will be in there for 10 hours or more. They will be calling us to give us updates throughout the surgery. Once she is out of surgery she will be taken to ICU for a couple of days, then moved to the transplant recovery floor.

When we hear something we will make sure to post on here. We would like to say please be patient with us to get back to you, we will it just might take some time.

Again, we cannot thank you all enough for the prayers, love and support you have all shown not just mom but our whole family as well. Know that we love all of you and keeping everyone in our prayers as well!

From Jen:

Hi everyone — thank you so much for sticking with us. It isn’t always easy to post regular updates, but we are truly overwhelmed by all the love, support, and prayers you’ve sent our way. It means more than you know.

I wanted to share a quick update about what’s been going on. Liver disease comes with a long list of symptoms, and one of the tougher ones mom is dealing with right now is bile acid buildup. It’s causing intense itching all over — especially her trunk, arms, and back. We’ve tried just about every lotion and over-the-counter remedy we can find, but the dryness and itching are still challenging.

If anyone has found a helpful home remedy or a store-bought product that brought you relief, I would be so grateful for your suggestions.

Thank you again for your kindness, your support, and for walking this journey with us. More updates soon. 💛

Yesterday was a little different of a thanksgiving but still a great one. Got to see dad and had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. Today we had some fun though. In the past when our favorite tv show Psych had a movie come out, mom went all out. Foods dedicated that revolved around the show. Well today (even thought it came out Wednesday) we did a Stanger Things dinner. Made pizza rolls, waffles and the monster in the show cookies. Mom and Robbie’s girlfriend Dakota had a fun decorating the cookies haha. Some days look a little different now, but we will continue to bring life and laughter!

We are all so grateful to everyone who continues to share the post and get the word out. Who have reached out, continue to send up prayers, helping bring mom to appointments, being a listening ear and soooo much more. Thank you for that love and support!!
